Like many other reviewers, we were staying here as part of a Treyn tour (I resent being referred to as geriatric!). Location is excellent, and the staff are very good indeed. I wouldn't recommend it for those not on a tour though, as the several large groups did seem to dominate and crowd others out. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The week was spoilt by terrible weather, with lots of rain and constant biting wind. Consequently it was cold and to start with the rooms were very cold but mid-week the manager relented and put the heating back on, which was very welcome. My main criticism is the food, which is what I call typical Spanish package buffet. Lots of it, and varied dishes, but not really tasty. I think the chefs were doing their best given the high number of diners they had to satisfy, but when you are on half-board it isn't great. Breakfast are fine though, with hot dishes, and an extensive cold buffet. Coffee from a machine is never great but rarely do hotels provide good coffee.

This hotel was absolutely stunning! The only disappointing thing for us was that they didn't have tea/coffee facilities in the room. Make sure you get down to the dinner sessions early or you will have to wait in queue.

If you are under 80 years of age & are of an independant nature as regards travel, or have children, then this hotel is not for you. The bulk of their clientel are geriatric coach trippers.
The car parking is abysmal. 50% of it is given over to disabled badge holders, who when observed are not disabled but use the badge to secure undercover parking.
The food is good, all of a buffet nature, but you have to fight the trippers for a table.
If you wish to sit outside to sunbathe, you have to be up very early to beat the Germans etc ,who secure all the loungers with their beach towels & then disappear.
All in all you will find much better value for money by looking around in Roses.

Room Tip: Pay the maximum rate.

This hotel is situated right on the front, where with a sea view you can survey the entire bay. You can also watch everyone walking or cycling along the front. The staff are friendly and attentive. The rooms are clean and all the facilities work well.

Room Tip: Pay a little more for a sea view

We have just returned from a week at the Coral Platja as part of a train/coach holiday. The hotel was very clean and we had a lovely room with a balcony. The staff were generally helpful and friendly despite the hotel being very busy during our stay. The buffet-style breakfasts and dinners were plentiful and there was plenty of choice. Like other reviewers, we had a problem with our room safe not working and we did object to having to pay for it.

Roses is a delightful town with plenty to do and the hotel was ideally located - on the beach and a short walk to the centre of town. We can recommend the local bus journey to Cadaques - it is one of the most spectacular and scenic journeys ever!

Excellent value for money, this hotel is situated right on the seafront. The whole hotel is spotless and the rooms are more than adequate, with a fridge, essentially a minibar but plenty of room for personal food items. The breakfast and evening buffets are excellent with a multitude of choice to suit all tastes. Bar prices very cheap compared to where I live, (South of France), eg 500ml of beer, about a pint in imperial measure only €3. Registration very quick and simple, and all the staff helpfull and polite. Swimming poll available, covered in winter and bycycle hire about €4 per hour. Wi- Fi is not available in the rooms but is available in all the public areas. Be sure to visit th Ancient Ciutedella almost opposite the hotel, classic Greek and Roman historic site.

You get what you pay for! I found this hotel to be clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The meals were very adequate and a lot to chose from. Never had a problem with choice. I thought that the bar staff were more than accommodating and served everyone very quickly and politely. Anyone on our trip who did have a problem it was sorted without fuss and very quickly. Needed to get a doctor on Christmas Day and the staff got one immediately and even directed us to the pharmacy to get the gentlemen's drugs! Can not fault the staff. Rooms were basic but clean and comfortable and cleaned everyday over Christmas and even on Christmas Day! The hotel is located directly on the beach and the beach was very clean and water very clear. Roses is a lovely little Spanish seaside resort. Would have no quarms about staying there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view room with balcony.
