We stayed here half board for two nights in early October. The room was very clean, good size TV (with BBC 1), hair dryer, small balcony.
The dinning room did get very busy, both at breakfast and evening dinner time, but there were enough staff to cope and replenish the buffet food, which was excellent.

Pool and gardens with lovely covered beach bar.
The hotel is a 15 minute easy stroll from the centre of Roses.

It could be very busy in the height of the season with young families, but nevertheless it does seem geared up for it.

We stayed at this hotel in Sept, booked through Treyne Holidays, to be honest we were overwhelmed at the standard of the whole hotel, the buffet was excellent with a tremendous choice of good food (NOT the normal hotel buffet warmed up meals). The rooms were spacious & spotlessly cleaned, Reception and waiters you could not fault, location 5 min's from the sea.
Would we go back A definite YES

I have just stayed for 8 days in this beautiful hotel and excellent location. It would be very difficult o find any fault here, the hotel is excellent in every way A beautiful swimming pool set among large well kept lawns with plenty of sunbeds a terrace bar and beautiful views. It is the only hotel where I have known champagne FREELY available for breakfast. The food is fantastic and all the staff are extremely helpful. I would highly recommend this venue and the town of Roses and surrounding environs.

Room Tip: Rooms on the North side have the picturesque view but all the rooms have a lovely balcony

We have just returned from having a Treyn holiday and this hotel is one of the best we have used.Very clean everywhere, rooms spotless staff excellent.Dining is of buffet style and is much like using a canteen and it's amazing that there were no accidents as it's a bit of a free for all.The food was good with plenty of choice.I was disappointed with the wi-fi not very good needs to be upgraded, free in the bar area, but anywhere else it's 1euro per day.
We are planning to go back in 2015 as we love the area of Roses and the Costa Brava in general.

I've just returned from this hotel, in which I've stayed for 5 days.
This is the first time that the hotel looks better in real life than in the official pictures.
The staff is very helpful and patient (There was a very nice lady in the reception - I think her name is Isabele - she was great !)
The food is very good, and with a large variety. The pool is nice and so is the indoor pool.
The location is close to the beach so you can go for a nice walk on the beach.
I recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms facing the pool and mountains side.

We are a family with two young children (4 and 2) and this hotel had all the appearances of a family hotel. We booked early and even emailed the hotel to check all would be well beforehand.
At this point let me make it clear that the problem is not with the facilities. Some are a little tired like the indoor pool but on the whole it is spacious as others have said. The hotel has a corporate style, is very clean but lacks in character. It also lacks attention to detail in other, little but annoying, ways like the blackout curtain not being wide enough to cover the windows in the room for example.
We do not believe our children to be badly behaved in any way; on the contrary we are blessed. However I am sorry to say we were made to feel extremely uncomfortable for the duration of our stay.
There were very few children in the hotel and it was immediately apparent that this hotel caters for coach loads of pensioners from England as well as those travelling the short distance from France. With hindsight the feedback on here clearly shows that if you read all of it. The result is that you are constantly stared at (or worse) if your children make the slightest noise, or god forbid your 2 year old doesn’t sit quietly at the table for the duration of your meal!
If that were not bad enough, the staff are something else. At best they are cold and impersonal and at worst, particularly in the restaurant they display behaviour that frankly would not be allowed in the UK.
On our first night, our little one was tired from travelling etc. and so fell asleep just before dinner. We decided to carry her down and she was sat on mum. We had not been there 10 minutes when the first staff member walks up without introduction and asks we put shoes on her. We explained she was sleeping and had none with us. He then fetches the ‘maitre d’ who rather aggressively asks us to put shoes on her as though our first explanation had not been understood or heard. Needless to say we were made to feel so unwelcome we ate as quickly as possible and left.
On our second night (we only stayed 4 nights!) our youngest was playing by the table (in shoes) and lost her little bracelet. We asked a waitress for help, rather than just start searching ourselves but she was not interested, so I opened a nearby cupboard to see if she had put it in there. Within a few seconds we are accused of ‘creasing the tablecloths’, which I did not and was extremely careful and respectful.
And so to the third night and the most shocking event of all. Both of our children were playing by our table with a third child, even under the table so not in anyone’s way and very quietly sticking stickers in a book. First guy comes along asking them (yes the children) to be moved – to where exactly? Well he suggested the foyer of the hotel – under whose supervision we asked? Not his problem, just move them – a family hotel remember folks which has no facilities in the restaurant for children. Anyway once we politely declined, along comes the maitre d and grabs the third child (a girl of about 5) by the arm, drags her to her feet and asks where her mother and father are (in Spanish, she was Dutch). The girl was petrified. He then starts to clear all the books and stickers etc. into a bag (none of which were his property). At this point I was so shocked I just froze as the father approached I was half expecting him to just knock the guy out. Instead he just exchanged a few words and it turns out he had not seen him grab her. Again we were made to feel like outcasts for the remainder of the meal until we left.
Yes we did complain and report it to management. The following morning nothing had been done so we sat down with a manager in his office and displayed our disgust. We were greeted with the usual excuses and alternative truths such as ‘well we have the entire restaurant on camera so the incident was filmed’. Of course when we asked to see it that was not possible. He then said he would report it to the directors of the hotel and get back to us – he never did.
Oh, we also booked 4 months in advance and requested a fourth floor quiet sea view room. That request was confirmed by email but we were given a second floor room with a nice view of a prison cell block type building, next to a young couple who liked to stay up to all hours whilst we enjoyed the chorus of scraping furniture above us all night long. We didn’t ask for a move as it would unsettle the children and in the scheme of things it was the least of our problems at this hotel.
I have left many reviews on here most of them very positive but If you have young children, stay away from here!
