Stayed at this hotel as part of a walking holiday. We dripped into the hotel having encountered a thunderstorm and high humidity on our (otherwise beautiful) walk. We were cheefully welcomed and taken to our room where our cases were waiting. Five minutes later a waiter arrived with a bottle of red wine and two glasses 'from the management'. How lovely and much appreciated! Our room was large and nicely decorated with a balcony overlooking the bay and gardens. Great bathroom with jacuzzi shower and double washbasins. The hotel may perhaps look dated from the outside in terms of its design but is elegantly decorated inside. Gardens beautifully kept and a profusion of colourful flowers despite August heat. Lots of places in sun or shade to relax in. Really enjoyed the delicious food in the restaurant where we were greeted each evening and asked about our day. Breakfast on the terrace outside was also lovely. Fantastic service and felt as if we really mattered. Truly wonderful! Enjoyed a walk along the coastal path to a selection of coves to dip into. We didn't bother to go to Roses as the hotel and its environs were too nice to leave.

Room Tip: We asked for a sea view which we received.

The Almadraba Park Hotel is a hotel from a bygone era - elegant, polished, spotlessly clean, quiet and extremely calm. Situated well outside the town of Roses (no car, no go) on an outcrop over the Bay, the hotel sports 2 salt-water swimming pools (25m/kids), gardens, a tennis court and spectacular views. The pretty (if crowded) sand beach is straight down a lot, and I mean a lot, of perilous slate stairs, older people beware. Clientele is largely retired French (who go to the beach by car ?), some large families, many returning customers. Service is impeccable, friendly, helpful. Half board dining (lunch or dinner- your choice) is sophisticated, (and better than you can find anywhere else in Roses), shorts and tshirts not advised. Breakfast is coffee & cold "continental" (no eggs/beans/sausages - Brits beware) - buffet downstairs on the terrace or in your room at no extra charge. Parking, beach towels, breakfast in your room, baby cot, child's dinner and Wi-FI (slow) are all free.
Downside : Our "Double Sea-View room", booked through the "Relais de Silence" faced a mountain construction site, with the beach only visible from the edge of the terrace. (Room 311). The hotel moved us after 2 nights to a room with a view of the bay.
Downside : The hotel is well outside the town of Roses - maybe an hour's walk - so no car, no go. But between the hotel and the handful of cafés/restaurants on the beach, you may just want to stay put. Downside : Isolated location, hard beds, simple rooms, tiny safe. Lots and lots of steep steps outside. Continental breakfast and dinner hours from 8:30 PM on may not suit everyone. Wi-Fi is free but slow & patchy.

Room Tip: Our "Double Sea-View room", booked through the "Relais de Silence", faced a moun...

We had a beautiful wedding here. The hotel is on a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean with spectacular views of the sea and Bay of Roses. They have many gardens where you can relax, have a drink and soak in the view. Down below is a beautiful pool and a small beach just a short distance away. All the staff are very professional, friendly and attentive. The Director, Jordi, was extremely helpful from planning to the day of the event. Food was exquisite, prepared true Mediterranean style with fresh fish and vegetables. Everything was delicious! We felt pampered as soon as we arrived. We couldn't be happier with every aspect of our experience. I highly recommend this hotel for vacation, dinner and any special occasion.

My family and I have gone to the Almadraba more than 20 times in our lives and it is probably the place I will keep on going on holidays every year.
The hotel is located on top of a "cliff" and a beach overlooking the Bay of Roses so the view is amazing. It has several gardens overlooking the sea and the beach. The beach is just below the hotel so you just need to go down a few stairs.
Food is lovely, true Mediterranean food with fresh fish, vegetables, amazing breakfast. It is one of the few hotels all over the world I have truly enjoyed the food.
Service is absolutely great, helpful and nice. The owners and managers are extremely helpful and friendly, always taking care of guests. And they have a lovely bar with a nice garden terrace in summer.
Rooms are large, they have been renewed in recent years and all of them have a nice terrace. I always stayed in one with sea view and it is wonderful, overlooking the whole Roses bay.
The hotel itself is located above a nice small beach... where swimming is great and snorkelling is also very nice (despite the fact that there is not many fish left in the Mediterranean)... as you can enjoy many rocks below the hotel.
I would absolutely recommend this hotel to everybody.

We attended a wedding in the hotel, so we stayed a night with the family.
This is an old hotel, but has been nicely renovated and all rooms have a modern taste. We took a standard room, size was enough, very nice bathroom with bubble bath, and balcony with spectacular views of the gulf or Roses.
My sister got upgraded to a suite, there was a big bedroom with a queen bed, nice bathroom with jacuzzi, a smaller room with 2 twin beds and big balcony.
Restaurant was great.
The hotel has two salt water pools, on a balcony over the sea: a big one (25 m) and a small one with bubbles. There are also stairs to go down to the beach, it's a really nice beach and although it's public, it's not as crowded as the other beaches in the area.
The hotel features too really extensive gardens, with lounge chairs around to lie down and enjoy the views.
Overall, a great place to relax and enjoy the sun, the views and the calm (or go to Roses in 5 min)

Room Tip: All seaview rooms are very good. Do not choose a room on the back (no sea view)

As with a number of people we were visiting Roses to go to El Bulli - this hotel is perfect for that journey and probably just for a nice quiet weekend away too! The rooms were small but fine and clean, the staff friendly and in general the hotel is very good for it's star-rating - and great value for money. The parking was good (as we were driving from Barcelona this was a necessity!) and the view spectacular in both directions. I'd be happy to go back to this hotel for a quiet weekend away even without El Bulli.

Room Tip: Either direction the water views are great.
