Firstly parking is a nightmare! When you do figure out it is round the back up a one way street and you have to press a buzzer to get in the jobs a guden! reception dreary and dated. Room had one double bed, one single and a camp bed! We struggled to fit it in when sleep time came and the room was 167 euros!!
Pool was cold with limted chairs. When you go in the lift to reception you enter like a storage room which you have to walk through! It is very odd. The balcony looked out onto other balconies so not ideal for a relaxing glass of wine!
On a positive note the staff were friendly, the hotel is close to town which is very pretty and the breakfast was good!

When arriving in the middle of the night we got a big, very nice room, but without a balcony. Five minutes later we had another, not so big but still ok and with a balcony!
The breakfast was excelent - plenty of everything you could wish for. The location - just across the street from the beach and just a few meters from the center with a lot of shopping and resturants. The pool on the roof was nice with plenty of sunbeds!

Nice room in the newer section with balcony and sea view. Breakfast is basic....pity there is no fresh fruit just tinned fruit cocktail, otherwise ok. Best restaurant is further down on the beach promenade called La Palmyra. Great food....try the melon with parma ham as starter. Very cheap too. La Dolce Vita in the other direction is also good and doesnt seem like a chain restaurant. The highlight is Aiguamollis Nature Park.....head for saint Pere de Rhodes and watch for the signs. You can take great pics from the hides even if you are not a birdwatcher.........access is free

This family hotel overlooks the Mediterranean and main promenade. All the rooms have air conditioning, tv and fridge. Some have terraces with table and chairs. There is a pool, jacuzzi, sauna and haman on site. Our ensuite room for the night, overlooking the sea, was furnished with a large wardrobe (perhaps not enough hangers for a week stay). There was a desk with 2 chairs, and a king size bed so snug and comfortable I slept unusually long (I rarely sleep well when I am travelling).

There are not many hotels open along the Spanish Costa Brava, particularly Roses out of season. This is one of the few open year round. We didnt book, just took a chance and turned up at 4 in the afternoon. It was busy with customers but they found us a room.
A good breakfast in the dining room came included in the price with the room (60 euros for 2). There were typical Spanish cold meats, cheeses, breakfast cereals, pastries, bread, fruit, juices, various types of coffee (including decaffeinated). I was delighted to see soya milk as an alternative. All the staff seemed friendly and helpful.

What this place has going for it is location, location, location. Right across the street for the best beach in roses (best beach in roses is not saying too much though) and is very near the resturants and shops down town. The area seams very safe and pretty clean. Fine for a family but boring for young adults and people in their 20's without kids.
It is a place to stay but if you find a better deal in Cadaques or further east along the coast outsiade of town then go for that.
On our stay a few things went wrong with the facility, first the AC stopped working at night, then we woke up and the water didn't work for the first few hours because the pump stopped and the night guy didn't know how to get it restarted but the day manager got it working in a minute. Then the drains in the bathtub and the sink wouldn't drain and by the condition of the drains, it was a common thing.
The Wi-Fi is only downstaires in the lobby so it could realy be useful on the 3rd floor where there is a beautiful table and area with a bar that is rarely used.
The buffet breakfest is fine for a day or two but after that you will go crazy eatting the same sliced ham and crosants with jam every morning. The juice is from a powder so it is tollerable once or twice. There are a few resturants in the area that are much better for not too high a price.
