We stayed here for 7 nights. The 1st 2 nights, the noise was so loud that we didn't get any sleep at all. The problem is that as you don't have air con in the room, it is impossible to close the balcony doors and so you are subjected to what i can only describe as animal sounds and grunts as well as water being tipped from balconies attempting to soak other guests (although we were told that this was a bit of a game between rival balconies). This carried on until about 5 am so we moved rooms. The noise was a litle better but still noisy. On the 4th night the hotel manager came out and stood guard to see who the offenders were as a glass bottle had been dropped from a balcony (warning.. be careful when walking under the hotel as you may be injured). The beds were very uncomfortable and difficult to get a good nights sleep. However the rooms were kept very clean by the maids and towels were changed every day. The food was just about edible if you closed your eyes and held your nose!! The salads were not too bad, however whatever was on the hot counter the day before was now incorporated into a salad!! Hot food was apauling. The very disapointing part of the food, was that there was no real traditional spanish food there!! I beleive this is because they are trying to cater to the Germans, which means German food but even that was badly done. I must congratulate the chef who can take a perfectly nice dish and ruin it totally. The head waiter was very rude and thinks he is clever - by the way, drinks are more expensive if you order them at the table so go downstairs and order from the bar and bring up with you (tell the waiter where to go if he objects as he can't stop you). The pool downstairs was okay. Not enough sunbeds but apart from that it was a decent pool. The upstairs pool is also okay but the sun terrace needs a bit of work doing to it to modernise it. The website says it has 3 lifts but we only knew of 2. They are so small that its a struggle to fit even 3 people in!! with suitcases it meant a double trip up and down. when you wait for a lift sometimes you would have to wait 10 minutes while it went up and down as when it arrived at your floor, there were already too many people in there and you had to let it go and wait until it was empty. Remember that there are 1000 rooms with possibly 3000 people in the hotel at any one time so 2 small lifts is a problem. The reception staff are fine and will help you if needed. The bar staff are okay too. They wern't rude but it is certainly not the place to hang around as it hasd no life in it at all!! On thursdays they have a band that entertains in the bar - This is the same band each week and according to the bar people are the same act each week for the entire season. So you can imagine that the band are extremely excited to be perfoming at the hotel torre arenal!!!!! The music was the usual mediocre old people's home entertainment you would expect. The resort is noisy and not for families or people wishing for a nice relaxing time. The beach is extremely crouded in peak times. We met a few people there who were from UK and they commented on it being he same as magaluf is for the british young people. My advice is to go North of the island if you prefer a more relaxing time. Possibly Port de Soller or on the east side near Cala D'or as there are much quieter. If you have already booked this then make sure you rent a car for the week and get up early and get out of there and see the island for what it really is - A Beautiful island with lots to see.

worst holiday experience ever, the hotel is full of young drunken germans that hurl abuse at the british, the side street the hotel is on has prostitues and 2 dodgy clubs on the street in also full of used condoms, our view was overlooking a run down area of arenal, the staff at the hotel were not helpful at all when we were thrown abuse at by the germans as we were only 4 women there. We were kept up all hours of the night by drunken young germans banging on all the doors at 3, 4, 5 and 6 am and also throwing up outside our door for us to step in it. the pool bar attendant was rude and was only helpful to the germans, we totally felt alienated!! HOTEL FROM HELL!!!!! BE WARNED!!!

I was on business few months ago and I spent a week there. Location was excellent - only 5 minutes to the business centre and about 25 min to the city centre!
Serive was well - room was cleaned every day. Good international standard. All inclusive of course.
After work hotel and surrounding helps me to fill free time -200 meters to the sea makes the scenery splendour! Beatiful area and crazy parties on the beach!

I can advice this place to young people most!

I must say that my holiday at torre arenal hotel was a disaster. The major problems are the rooms.I was given a room next to the kitchen and the noise was big...this was not the biggest problem...the door couldn't be shut and was unsecure,I had to use the force to shut it...so I asked for another room...the stuff was ok and changed my room...everything was ok with the second room till the day before leaving the hotel when...I was robbed. And not only me...the hotel has about 10 floors...during the dinner,in about 30 minutes it happened to 5-6 rooms,at different floors. They stole my video camera,my foto camera and my hairdryer...others lost their passports, cell phones,etc....the police came but they told us directly that such things happened before and they can't find the thiefs...that was so "encouraging".We all went to the police station next morning, few hours before leaving the hotel and lodged complaints with the hotel explainign what happened.I received 2 letters from the spanish government telling me the hotel was temporary closed because it offers no security.,and that they think the hotel stuff is responsable for the robbery..(the rooms have no value boxes, just at the reception and they are extremely small.)..that was all I could do...
This is the main problem I recommend not to go to this hotel and another tipp for you all that want to go to mallorca...do not choose el arenal because it is not a nice resort...there are many natives that live there,in verry bad conditions,it's quite a dirty area.Choose playa de palma resort...it has no terms of comparison with el arenal,it's a very beautiful resort.I went there in 2005 and loved it.Choose Sant Jordi hotel,I loved it...no such awfull incidents

The hotel is well located only a short walk from the main promenade of Arenal.

The bed rooms were found to be adequate although the bathroom are very small and dated and in need of refurbishment. We ended up changing rooms and found both bathrooms to be of similar standards. In the first the door could only open so far before hitting the bidet whilst when using the toilet knees were against the side of the bath. The bath in both rooms can at best only be described as a half bath or a shower tray with two feet high sides. The style was very much 60’s with yellow wall tiles which again could do with upgrading. The second room bathroom was very similar to the first except for the 1’ square hole in the wall, covered by a towel, to allow ventilation.

We were half board and the food was average for a three star hotel with a reasonable choice and being self-service you could have as much as you wanted. The restaurant was always clean and tidy with the staff very efficiently keeping the tables clean.

The chef was very helpful to my wife, who requires gluten free food. After initially pointing out her dietary needs the chef was always on hand to say what food she could or could not have.

The roof top pool area is a bit scruffy and needs to have all the broken sun loungers replaced. The main pool, although small was adequate for the numbers who used it, and was well kept although again there were a number of broken loungers.

One important thing is the noise. The hotel appeared to be predominately used by Germans, many of whom were young and in groups. This meant we were continually woken at 3, 4 and 5 o’clock in the morning by them returning to their rooms and then chatting loudly on their balconies. This was the reason we had to change rooms.

Having been to Arenal many times before, i knew what to expect....although this was a different hotel........

Ok, so its may not be the Hilton, but it was pretty good for a 3*, all the staff where very helpful...and even spoke a little English(which makes a change)!....As i didnt eat at the hotel, i cant tell you what the food was like....although i heard from another Brit who was also staying....telling me that the breakfast was one of the best he'd ever had. The room was good, no problem there...very clean...although the bathroom looked like it had not been updated since the 60s....we were based on the 8th floor which over looked the market on a thursday....be aware....you will be woken early if your on that side of the hotel.....oh and the pool(what there is of it)...is on the 10th floor....strange!...In all, if you dont mind a few loud German kids...stay there....i would again!

Warnings....Dont tell Chris in the Sportmans if its your birthday.(1530 the next day i woke up)!.....Try the Queen Vic....its a lovely little bar and Dave and his family are great people...plus i will be buying it from him in the not so distant future!...Have a look in the Beachcomber...all the women love Jan...my misses couldnt keep her eyes off him all week!

Magaluf....get on the no.23 bus into Palma then 20euros for a taxi...a good night out for the young...36 euros return at five in the morning cant be bad!.....

Arenal is a lovely place....dont be put off by the Germans(their not that bad)...and the Dutch people there will have all day for you...fantastic people.......ill be back there soon.....got a bar to buy.....................haha.............
