“Food is a let down”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Loved going to an adults only hotel, didn't miss the sound of children at all. Facilities are good at the hotel, the only let down is the temperature of the food served in the restaurant - there was plenty of variety it just wasn't piping hot. Yes, there is a microwave to heat your meal but lets be honest who wants to do that.

Good location for shops, bars, beach etc.

Rooms are on the small side but lets be honest how much time do you spend in them? Very good value for money hotel.

This was our third trip to Mediterranean Bay Hotel in three years. The review should really stop there but I'll continue.
What takes a couple to the same resort, same hotel annually? Simplicity, quality, service and great local food.
A warm welcome bestowed us on arrival, shown to our room overlooking the entrance water feature, swimming pool, sauna and reception area. This hotel is very young in comparison, very sleek, modern, compact yet gives spacious vibes.
We arrived mid-afternoon and spent the rest of the day mulling around, setting the relaxing mood for the rest of our week. This is so easy in this building.
The location is one key to our returning, a short and relatively cheap bus fare to Palma takes us to almost anywhere on the island by public transport. Soller, Port D'Antraxt, Caves of Drach, Monacur, Cala D'or or maybe to the local beach, a boat trip or simply wander around the local port.
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner times at Mediterranean Bay are lengthy but I would recommend that enough time is allowed to finish your meal before the end of the allocated time slots. Breakfast was 07:00 to 10:00, Lunch 13:00 to 15:00 and Dinner 19:00 to 22:00.
The restaurant is well stocked, well managed, clean and healthy. The restaurant manager Pedro is a very professional man, efficient and likable character who will go out his way to assist. The waiting staff are very pleasant and efficient. The chef and team are fantastic, continually restocking and replenishing fare on offer. The food is healthy, local, well presented, tasty, fresh and in abundance. I found that if a plate is empty and maybe the chef's team haven't noticed then if I asked for more, the request was dealt with in a timely manner.
Our room was cleaned daily with towels being changed. The hotel in general is spotless.
We had no reason to request further assistance from reception but any time we passed, there was always someone there.
The bar is well stocked and anytime we required drinks, there may have been a small queue but the staff are always around to serve.
Obviously we like this hotel and would definitely recommend to anyone. We will return, no question about that.

We went to this Hotel on 7th May for a 7 night holiday but left on 9th May due to the following. Room tiny, had to pay 20euros deposit for the handset to operate TV. The walls paper thin and on first night could not get to sleep for occupant in next room snoring, felt they were in bed with us. Wakened at 3.15am by TV in the other room. Back to sleep at 5am to be wakened again by TV on at 7am!!!
Food, not 4* standard, example Soup, stock cube in water. No Buffet laid out during day as advertised, you had to ask for a cake or sandwich and this was served on a paper plate and stale. Bar, only one person on duty who also had to go to kitchen for any food requests, tidy pool area, disappeared to Restaurant leaving queues at the Bar for drinks. Supposed 'A' brand Spanish Drinks. I requested a Larios Gin and was told not in All Inclusive and was given 'Palmbridge' Gin - never heard of it, could not drink it. Cocktails foul. Entertainment - non existent, Hotel like a morgue in the evening. Jaccuzi, never on. Sauna, locked up looked as if it had been that way for a long time. Reception (Anna) not helpful, not interested in British guests made to feel unwelcome. Do not go to this Hotel please.

Room Tip: We were on top floor as suggested by other travellers, made not difference as walls paper thin.

Stayed for 4 nights half board and had no complaints. The rooms are adequate and there is a fridge, air conditioning and an excellent shower. Beds are firm but reasonably comfortable and we must have had good neighbours as we didn't hear any noise from the next rooms.
Hotel was very clean throughout and staff were helpful and friendly. The food was varied and of a good quality. We had to wait for a table a couple of times but only for a few minutes.
We didn't use the pool so cannot comment on that but it seemed OK. The hotel is very handy for buses to Palma, there are shops nearby and it is only a short stroll to the marina and beach.

Rooms
Good job you can't bring your cat, cause you won't have room to swing it.
Although the walls are so thin ,you can hear a lot of purring at 4 in the morning.
Bar
Don't get fooled by the bottles on the top shelves!
You won't get any of that
You will get the non alcoholic Gin/Vodka/Brandy etc etc
Entertainment
Ivan (the terrible)
Would not make a living on the English pub circuit, more suited to old peoples homes.
At least they could teach him the words
Reception
Better off talking to the Rhino
Staff
If you catch someone manning the bar, praise the Lord!
Unless there is a scantily dressed fraulein when David or Miguel are on duty
Menu
Sauerkraut or Rabbit
Terrace
Air free zone
More chimneys than the Reineland
Overall
Better off changing from Adults only to German Smoking Only
Only Way Out
Learn to swear in German

I was very pleased at first with this hotel, very nice staff, clean but small rooms, amazing shower, nice food, good location. I'm just disappointed that my headphones "vanished" i know 100% they were stolen. I'm just glad I left nothing valuable there.
