We visit Scallops at least 3 times every holiday. We were there until 11th June and still amazed how the owners make profit when we were given two complimentary bottles of wine and 2 complimentary breakfasts each when we had a main meal or one of the set menu's.
We received a warm welcome and enjoyed being able to sit in the lovely new Rose Garden area. Servings were generous and well presented; fish always fresh,
My only criticism is that I feel that the soup is generally disappointing, having tried different ones on 3 separate occasions. I think the 1st course should be eliminated as 3 courses are more than enough for the special menu's.
One couple appeared irritable because they waited too long for their bill. its easier to take note of your table number and pay at the desk inside if you are in a hurry to leave.
The Ladies loo's should be checked more frequently as I felt the level of hygiene could be improved.
Parking is very convenient for people who may have a physical disability or for families with babies in pushchairs.
All in all, this informal restaurant is ideal for couples or families who are budget conscious and want excellent value for money.
