“Worst meal in Spain!”
Reviewed 23 July 2013

I sat on the terrace, which is where the chairs and tables are set out in a pleasant square. The square has' swings and play things so it must be a popular place for parents to enjoy a drink while their children play.

Service was very good, quick and efficient.

But the meal was awful. I chose arroz Zamorana, a local rice based dish. The dish was risotto style rice, undercooked with lots of fatty lumps in it. Fat and meat is fine; if you like fat you can eat it and if you don't you can cut it off. But this was all fat, lumps of varying size from large (say 1x2 cm) to smaller pieces. The fat over-whelmed the dish, leaving a greasy smear on your lips after every mouthful.

I do not live in Spain but have travelled here for many years and I cannot recalled a less attractive dish, and that includes my dim memories of the post-Franco era before Spanish cuisine exploded into the wonderful array you can enjoy today.

“Good value option”
Reviewed 21 April 2013

On a quiet Sunday night we were almost the only people eating in the pleasant upstairs restaurant. There are different levels of set menus which provide really good value and the food was very good. The waiter was very efficient and very fast considering it was so quiet.

“Food Fantastic - Service to match”
Reviewed 4 June 2012

Finding a restaurant in this town is not so easy. There are loads of tapas bars, bocadillo and postre shops, but not many restaurants. As a result, we felt so blessed when we asked at a bar if there was a restaurant in the old town and a fabulous fellow took us by the hand to Serafin.

The food was fresh and well-flavored. Beware--the portions are very large! The wine list was extensive. Our waiter was excellent.

“Could have been good - just wasn't”
Reviewed 14 March 2010

Went to this restaurant in March 2010. At first we thought the service was very good but by the end of the meal, we thought we were being had. The waiter was friendly and helpful at the beginning but then started bringing things we didn't ask for and charging us for them. We could see him and a waitress almost laughing about what they were trying to do (run up our tab). We could have left with a great feeling but instead left with a bad taste in our mouths. I would not go back. Food was very marginal by US standards. By Spanish standards, it was decent.
