“Overpriced”
Reviewed 5 October 2013

We travell around and this motel was overpriced by around $60, although was given a complementry cont, breaky,, But 99% of other high priced motels would give u a full breakfast without being asked at the breakfast counter in front of other guests
" would u like to upgrade" Stay clear.

Thank you for your feedback.

Unfortunately I am unable to provide further clarification as your concerns were not brought to Management's attention during your stay.

As I am sure you can appreciate, different room packages are available to our guests. Those who purchase a room and continental breakfast package will be asked when entering the Restaurant for breakfast if they would like to upgrade. This procedure is expected of all our staff to ensure that all of our guests are given the opportunity to experience a full cooked breakfast.

Please feel free to contact me directly at the hotel if you would like to discuss your concerns further.

Kind Regards,
Chantelle Pryer

Loved the Goorey Park cellar door in the pavilion when we arrived. After settling in we wandered back to the lovely open fire and sampled some good wines. Used the free bikes to ride into town after splashing around in the seriously over chlorinated pool and spa - the chlorine was so strong that my partners swimmers were bleached out afterwards. Breakfast was ok although we had two totally different experiences. The first morning the waitress was barely there leaving supplies of bread and toppings to a meagre couple of pieces in the baskets. Without direction as to what was included I had a full buffet breakfast. The next morning we had a very friendly and efficient waitress who explained our options and was very attentive and I realised the hot buffet wasn't included in my breakfast voucher. Checkout was a little inexperienced and we ended up with someone else's bill. Overall though an enjoyable stay - just need to dial down the chlorine levels - it took us a few days to get the smell out of our skin.

Thank you for your feedback and we are glad that you enjoyed our Gooree Park Cellar door and bikes.

We appreciate your response in regards to the pool. Our pool is a salt water pool and upon receiving your response Maintenance have confirmed that the levels are correct and abiding guidelines.

It is disappointing that you experienced different encounters during breakfast and I have approached our Restaurant Manager in regards to your concerns.

Once again, thank you for your comments and if I can be of any further assistance please don't hesitate to contact me directly at the hotel.

Kind Regards,
Chantelle Pryer

This is not a resort - it's a MOTEL !!! The worst accommodation in Mudgee. Overpriced, noisy and "couldn't care less" management. Rooms lacked privacy as shared patio area meant that neighbouring kids could look into all the rooms and you needed the curtains drawn open because the rooms were so dark. Definitely DO NOT stay here.

Room Tip: stay somewhere else

Thank you for your feedback.

As discussed with yourself directly during your stay our Management team attempted where possible to ease any distress caused to you by the noise within the property after 7am in the morning.

As you are aware we attempted and succeeded in attending to your concerns.

I am disappointed that this has been taken to this level as our team always strive to assist and respond to all of our guests requirements.

Very nice resort situated close to the wineries and to town. Good size rooms well appointed but getting a little tired. We booked the business suite which was very large and comfortable. Huge tv, dinning room, lounge room and large bedroom and two bathrooms. One problem the toilet in the ensuite was out of order and had to use the other bathroom which was fine. We received a free breakfast for the inconveniance, the breakfast was very good. Lovely gardens and water feature. Gym, tennis, bike hire ect a good spot for a weekend away.

Room Tip: Upstairs looking at the lake is great, no lift.

I truly don't understand why others would make negative comments about this venue. Our rooms were modern and spacious opening to a large and scenic verandah. Kids were well entertained with the pool, free bikes, frisbee competition (personally instructed by the manager). There was a mini soccer pitch and tennis court as well. The venue is next door to a wine and cheese store and across the road from a winery. Mudgee race course is also directly across the road. We had both the roast carvery buffet and the breakfast buffet and found them to be quite nice and good value. Overall our experience was excellent and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Parklands resort to others. We will definitely be back!

Clean, comfy rooms, great brekkie buffe, good food on roomservice, beautiful surroundings.

Extra star for the awesome electric blanket that came very handy on cold evenings!

Minus for the connected balconies, which merely gave the guests kids a great place to race around on VERY loudly.

Room Tip: Had the superior room, with double bed, single and a fold-out divan... Good size for a family!

The motel (definitely not a resort) is quite tired and in need of major renovation and maintenance. Rooms are quite spacious, which was a plus, and you can park right at your door (literally, if you are on the ground floor). Check in was unproblematic and the venue is easy to find and relatively central to the town centre and other local attractions (about a 5 minute walk to the town centre). The food at the breakfast buffet was quite OK.

There were some ageing tiles in the bathroom and the greying, fraying and stiff towels were a major put off. I would have used them for cleaning rags at home. The old rattling air conditioners above the door probably need replacing. My bed was squeaky too ?! Every time I moved during the night the bed loudly squeaked and interrupted my sleep ( ..not a problem I've ever had before so quite a unique experience!)

Chocolate in the bed on arrival was a nice touch and probably the most memorable part of the visit.

I have stayed at worse places. It was simply 'just average'. I would probably look to try elsewhere next time in Mudgee.
