“The most amazing place to stay in”
Reviewed 24 July 2011

This place is very very amazing!!! it's a mixture between the beauty of nature and traditional Moroccan rooms with AC. People are very friendly and hospitable. If anybody want to spend good time in a Camel ride, I would recommende this place.

We really enjoyed our stay at Auberge L'oasis. That was exactly what we've expected from being in a oasis and even better. Youssef and everybody were very friendly and helpful. We really liked our camel trip and sitting and hanging out in the sahara desert was also a pleasure.

We had a room for three which was clean, spacious and with en suite shower room.
Dinner was very good quality set menu. Four courses was excellent value at 60D (approx £5) for fresh bread, soup, salad, tagine/main and fruit/sweet pastries and coffee/tea. The auberges are situated in one strip along the edge of the desert leading north from the fairly grotty town of Merzouga.

Cold at night, but they offered us extra blankets. Beds were firm and looked fairly new wooden frames. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We booked a camel trip into the desert which was excellent too.

All in all no complaints and would recommend this if you want to visit the Sahara for camel or 4x4 trips. Although we didn't use the quad bikes or 4x4 a lot of people did.

Friendly and lovely people that expects you at arrival!
We started our tour towards the dunes on the camels led by the one an only Ahmed, so funny and friendly. At the dunes everything was amazing, the skies the absence of noise, a bit cold thou. We fell in love for the morning sun, it was fantastic!
When we arrived at the Auberge we were just starving and believe me it was the BEST breakfast we had in our 15 days holidays in Morocco.
Thanks again Ali hope to see you soon!

We did the camel trek to stay overnight in bedoin-style tents in Erg Chebbi. We did see the rooms when we showered on the morning of our return, and they were nice and clean. Our guide was very friendly although not very fluent in English. The men who worked at the hotel who we initially booked with did speak good English, so that was a bit of a disappointment. However with our bad French and Spanish we got by just fine. The food prepared for us in the desert was fine, typical dishes but camp fare quality. This was an experience of a lifetime.

We had an incredible time at a guest house in Hassilibied that sits on the edge of the sahara desert. The beautiful, peaceful setting and hosptiality of the family that owns the hotel made it a wonderful experience. They really focus on their guests and make them feel like close friends. The food served is Moroccan typcial dishes, all prepared from fresh ingredients. Of course, the camel trek was a once in a lifetime experience, not to be missed.
