This area is about 30 minutes walk from the main bus station (Termini).
This area, as well as the other archeological sites nearby, are truly magnificent.
There is a lot of armed security on site so is also safe to visit.
Highly recommended

It was so worth the money to hire a private guide to tour Ancient Rome -- Pantheon, Forum, Colosseum -- areas. We were referred by friends to Sonia Tavoletta. She brought the areas to life with background, historical context, and interesting stories. And she moved us quickly through the entrance lines and throngs of people. Ancient Rome sites are a must-see during Italian travel, and a guided tour made it all so much more meaningful. Thanks Sonia.
I must confess to be more interested in history from the Renaissance onwards but there is no better city to view ancient Roman buildings and artifacts.
Roman Empire and its ruins. A place where you can see the greatnes and amazing archtectural and engineering traits. A place where hundreds of years of antique history are still present.
Many amazing buildings. Impressive architecture
Don't just go to the Colosseum. There is so much more to see like it! This is so much to see here. Go and take your time and look at everything and be in awe of what must have been so long ago that you can barely grasp it!
Larger area that covers all ancient sites it's a highlights of a visit to Rome and Italy in general. There is so many places to see and things to learn about whereabouts of Romans, few days at least to see most of it, but it's definitely worth it.
