“Could do better”

Searched by Fine Dining - at it certainly was. The Hotel was overall good, but glad we stayed for 2 nights as first night had a few minor niggles. The restaurant is a strange mix of furnishings, the bar area has a far better feel and service!! We would stay again but they need to up their game on the hotel side to match the quality of their food.

Given that my parents live down the road we did not stay here but just came for dinner one evening. Hotel dining rooms are rarely exciting and this one does look very ordinary; but the food is great. In an area not over-endowed with great restaurants, this is one of the best options and the menu offers a huge choice.

As is customary in the area the helpings are enormous and accompanied by mounds of vegetables; but here the cooking is precise and subtle. The ingredients are top notch.

The service is a tiny bit amateurish; but it is friendly and accurate and obliging, which is perfectly sufficient for us.

My nine year old, whilst tempted by the rather good children's menu, could not resist an enormous steak, cooked rare exactly to his specification

I booked one evening with a man who was a little hesitant about taking a booking. I was told the next day that I could have an ezec room for one night only. The other would be in the annexe. Both rooms were good for the money. Staff and food excellent.

My daughter booked this hotel for one night as we were going to St Davids and there was no accommodation available there. What a lovely hotel! We stayed in the annexe, where the beds were comfort personified. There was a wedding that day, with all the other rooms taken and there was no hot water in the evening for us to shower! However, this may have been for some other reason, and not that the guests had used it all.

We had to leave before breakfast the next morning, but when we asked for a packed breakfast to take with us, the hotel staff were entirely accommodating. Indeed, they even gave us hot toast and tea that morning at our request, too.

Nice spot, Wolfscastle. Would use this again.

This restaurant cannot be praised enough. Wolfscaslte hotel is an asset to Pembrokeshire and a visit to the county is not complete without a visit to this unique hotel. A group of 11 of us ate here recently and were served exceptional food accompanied by highly professional service. Many ordered steak which was cooked to taste and the large variety on the menu suited all palets and purses. Two of our guests were from Vancouver and on booking I was confident that Wolfscastle hotel would provide us with a great meal and atmosphere. Although the restaurant was exceptionally busy, the staff and kitchen provided us with, in the words of the Vancouver couple "a night to remember".

Our next visit to the restaurant cannot come too soon

We got married here last August, although the wedding was lovely and the food was gorgeous I couldnt help but to feel slightly disappointed with the staff, they werent terribly helpful and we found that a lot of the time things werent running as smoothly as they should of been. We had the bridal suite which was basic but ok, although we had to pay for it because we were under the required guest number by about 5 people, there were no fresh flowers or sparkling wine in the bridal suite, we decided to buy a bottle from the bar at a cost of £22!
The breakfast the following morning wasnt great either, which quite a few of our guests also commented on.

Overall I enjoyed my wedding day, even if the owners are a bit on the moneygrabbing side.

We pride ourselves on producing excellent food in a friendly and efficient environment. Whilst this couple commended us on the food, we were disappointed with the comment "that they were slightly disapointed with the staff" - a comment we rarely, if ever, receive. A 25% discount was given for the bridal suite, even though there was no daytime wedding reception and the evening reception that was held was forty attendees short of the number required to have the bridal suite free of charge. The bridal couple were also given a 50% discount on the room hire, despite the fact that the wedding was held on a bank holiday weekend in August. Every bride receives a bottle of champagne in the room, so this was a rare oversight on our part. Our breakfasts are always freshly prepared and cooked to order with the best of local ingredients. We also place comment/feedback cards around the hotel to view guests opinions of the hotel and they are almost always positive. It seems a little strange that a couple feel the need to make these comments nearly a year later.

We really enjoyed our stay at Wolfcastle.

The hotel is a typical, medium-sized country hotel. The rooms were traditionally decorated with lovely soft beds. The food served in the restaurant (or you could eat in the bar) was delicious and the location was brilliant for exploring Pembrokeshire.

We went to have a drink in the bar after dinner and we were the only ones in there, so it was defeinielty a quiet getaway break.

The staff were really friendly and suggested places to visit nearby. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
