Description: The Junction Inn is a large Victorian village pub offering the warmest of welcomes from our landlords Celia and Tony. We sell the very best of award winning beers (including Best Bitter from Harveys of Lewes), an amazing ever changing range of over 30 single malt whiskies from around the world, fine wines at very affordable prices, and some fantastic food ranging from everybody's favourite pub grub to Malaysian, Thai and Chinese cuisine. We can cater for large groups in our super function room which can seat 50 people comfortably, so we are perfect for kiddies parties (we have play equipment in the garden), wedding receptions, family gatherings or events of any kind, so please just ask and we'll be happy to discuss your needs. There is FREE WiFi and doggie treats and bowls of water for well behaved dogs, and we host cribbage and petanque teams through the year. We're open every day from 12 noon (except Monday when we open at 5pm), we serve lunch from 12 - 3 and evening meals from 6 - 9 every day except Sunday, when we serve lunch from 12 - 4, and Monday when the kitchen is closed. So, pop in and see us, you'll be pleased you did!

I have given this a 5 star review because when you go to your local village pub what you want is a pleasant atmosphere, welcoming people, and good food and drink at sensible prices. The Junction Inn has had a few ups and downs in the past few years but is now under new management and we went along for the first time in a while. The food was really tasty and prices were between 10 and 15 pounds for a main and the food was worth that. Not too complicated but very tasty and generous servings. The pint of choice is Harveys but a decent selection of other beers. The lady behind the bar was very welcoming and made sure we were happy with everything in a friendly and informal style. There were a couple of dogs lounging on the floor and next time we'll probably bring ours.

We came across the Junction Inn after completing a nearby circular walk and were impressed by the exceptionally friendly welcome we were given. As a result, we decided to use the venue (in combination with the Spa Valley Railway as our mode of transport) to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday with 26 friends and family. What a brilliant day! Lisa was so helpful and accommodating with our requests and the Long Room was perfect. There was more than enough delicious food and everyone was wowed by the dressed salmon. Lisa, Andy and their team provided an attentive, discrete service and everything went like clockwork. We all had a wonderful day - thank you so much!

We walked to this lovely sunny beer garden with a large ( ish ) group of friends last weekend, we called an hour before and found they could accomodate us.The food was really fresh and lovely, we all had something different and it all arrived together and really was great pub food. This placve is a little find, once others hear about this young Scottish chef it may not remain so sleepy.....Perfect pub lunch!

Thanks very much for your kind review, we're pleased you all enjoyed yourselves. And Andy, our 'young' Scottish chef, is especially happy because nobody's called him young for at least 20 years! He must have paid you..........?

Good food, unpretentious and obliging helpful staff in a typical country pub. Had a very acceptable and reasonably priced three course Sunday lunch. Fresh veggies and varied selection of dishes. Clean, tasty and well cooked food with attentive service. Worked for me.

Trying to be more than it should. Pretty young bargirl very polite and attentive,,almost pushy !
The décor and ambience are not up to the menu and prices, other staff not interested in acknowledging visitors in favour of locals.
A villiage pub you are.:.not even a gastro pub,, See what you are and you could be great .

We're sorry you didn't enjoy your experience. We know we are a village pub, we certainly have no ambition to be a 'gastropub', but we know the quality of our food is very good, and we know our pricing is very competitive.

You haven't mentioned our food or drink products, but you didn't like the décor which is your subjective view, so what it appears to come down to (bearing in mind and with reference to our previous reviews since we took over last September - which suggest we are progressing on the right lines) is simply that you can't please all of the people all of the time, though of course we try very hard, as do all pub operators.
