This was an amazing find, we travel all over the world and food is often a dissapointment in many places. We were traveling on business and an associate told us how to find this place.
We arrived early evening (before the chef) but were told that we could eat as soon as the ovens and stoves were ready. The owner was very accomodating and did`nt keep us waiting long. The food was fantastic, my husband had the sea bass with crab mash and he said it was superb. I had king prawns in a garlic( and something else) sauce, it was great.
The service was good and overall the ambiance was excellent.
We felt that the price of the food was very reasonable considering that it was fine dining in a gorgeous country pub.

I stayed one night here on my own and hope to come back to enjoy it more.
It is a lovely old inn with the accommodation, originally out buildings, tastefully developed. The pub was humming on Saturday evening, not too crowded but certainly busy. The service was excellent, despite the fact that most of the evening staff were very young and probably students. They were clearly trained and well managed. My food was excellent with lamb that melted in the mouth and lots of fresh vegetables. Breakfast was cooked to order and I had a perfect soft poached egg, served hot on hot toast. How rare is that in a hotel/restaurant! My room was larger than most hotel rooms with a very large shower room attached. It was toastie warm despite a chilly night and the power of the shower was awesome. I was also given a flask of real milk in the room which had a kettle and tea/coffee. Parking was easy outside the door. All this for £75 per night for B&B, and an evening meal with 2 courses, 2 large glasses of wine and a brandy, just over £30. Superb.

I have recently spent three nights at this village inn - eating in the restaurant every night.
My room was in a small single storey "mews" bock adjacent to the main building: it was comfortably, if simply furnished, with a well appointed en suite shower room. The inn has a large car park and I was able to park immediately outside my room.
There is ample choice for breakfast and each meal is freshly cooked.
In the evening there is a bar menu and a restaurant menu. I ate in the restaurant on all three evenings and found the menu varied and interesting - with a focus on fresh local produce. The cooking was of a high standard and the food was well presented. The service from all the staff I met was professional and friendly - giving the real impression that they really wanted you to enjoy your stay.
In my view both the accommodation and food represented real value for money.
The only "caveat" I would make is that this inn is a member of a small group of four inns and the Manager and his wife were leaving the business a few days after my stay. I hope their successors maintain their standars.
