Loch Lein Country House

Loch Lein Country House was an absolute gem of a find. Everything about it was excellent. It was located in a beautiful spot with lovely gardens to sit in and wide views over the loch to the hills beyond (the start of the Ring of Kerry). Our room was sensational - we had a huge room on the front looking out over the garden and the loch, three windows, a sitting area with a comfy couch, a huge bed (excellent sleeps), and an immaculate and spacious bathroom. It was everything I'd hoped for and more - and well and truly lived up to the reviews on Trip Advisor. The owner Annette was charming and made us very welcome and immediately sent a tray of tea up to our room when we arrived. She also gave us great advice on where to visit and eat in the area and her husband Paul helped us work out a terrific route to see as much beautiful scenery in the limited time we had from the start of the Ring of Kerry, across onto the Beara Peninsula and over the wild and beautiful Healey Pass. In the evening when we got in from dinner the delightful young Rosie brought us a tray of tea in the lounge when we wanted it even though it was getting quite late. And the breakfast in the morning was to die for - full Irish (of course), abundant, delicious and beautifully presented. I can't fault a thing about Loch Lein Country House Hotel and look forward to returning one day and making it our base for a much longer stay to see the area properly.

Very warm and welcoming staff. We were treated well.

A great location down a alley and next to a couple of fields. This is a very relaxing place and we will come back.

Rooms were good size. We had a view of a field but there are ocean view rooms too.

Served breakfast in the AM.
Had a computer for use. We used our own.

Rooms were up to date and clean

We've been traveling for two months and this is one of the best hotels we have stayed at.

What a gem of a hotel. Just outside Killarney, nearing the end of the season so there were only about 5 other couples during the 4 days we stayed there and what a fantastic stay we had. Annette and Paul are superb hosts, helpful but never intrusive and Rosie the young Lithuanian "jack of all trades" was lovely. Our room - 212 - was absolutely huge with 3 windows overlooking the Lake and I guess the fact that we had stunning weather made it all the better. We were made to feel at home from the minute we arrived - free wifi in the room and tea and biscuits as well as buckets of ice were never any trouble. Paul gave very good advice each morning for the day's trips and recommended good places to go and to eat. We found his advice invaluable so thank you Paul. Breakfast well supplied and cooked to order and served by the ever helpful Rosie. We were given a key in the evenings which we never had to use but nice to know we could have been out in Killarney as late as we wanted without a problem. It is not in the centre of the town but is only about 10 minutes drive in and the peace and quiet was certainly something we appreciated when we realised how noisy the town centre could be in the evenings. Would most definitely recommend it and hope that we can go back one day.

We stayed at the Loch Lein Manor Hotel on the second part of our journey through Ireland. Upon arriving and after being overwhelmed by the beautiful view of the Lake and mountains, we were warmly welcomed by Annette who met us at the entryway. From the moment we arrived until we left 4 days later, we felt totally pampered and cared for. Annette and Paul did all they could to make us feel welcome, comfortable, relaxed and well fed. From providing us tea in the afternoon to drinks in the evening, the wonderful breakfasts and dinners---everything was superb. Everything we needed was taken care of and we were treated as if we were the only guests they had. We are already planning another trip to Ireland and will plan our itnerary to end up back in Killarney and back at the Loch Lein. We would highly recommend to anyone that you not miss the comforts, beauty and warm hospitality that Paul and Annette prvide to all of their visitors at the Loch Lein.

By far the best place we stayed at in our 6 weeks through Europe. Room was huge and bathroom outstanding. View to lake was delightful as was the kind welcome and attention from Paul and Annette! Breakfast was made to order and exceptional. Well sighted for day trips to Ring of Kerry (Portmagee was lovely) & Dingle (as good if not better than Kerry). A night at Kate Kearneys Cottage with their live Irish Band capped off a wonderful 2 days. A must stay on your trip

My friend and I found this amazing country house/hotel in Killarney through Trip Advisor and we were totally impressed. It was wonderful! Starting with Annette's warm welcome, Paul's friendly charm and the young man (can't remember his name)'s courtesy and helpfulness, this was the best service we received during our 2 week visit to Ireland. The location is outside of town but Tom the taxidriver was there to drive us where we wanted to go and be waiting for us when we were ready to call it a night. It was very peaceful and relaxing - the setting, the view from our bay window, the lobby, dining room, food, ambience, the rooms, the grounds - I could go on and on. The photos tell the story. And....we found it very affordable. I've travelled all over the world, stayed in lots of different places and I'm not easily impressed but this place has it all! My only negative (for me) was having to drive back & forth to town but it was worth it. When it came time to leave, it was difficult to say good-bye. If I get back to Ireland, Killarney & Loch Lein Country House are #1 on my list.

This is, quite simply, a hotel that truly cares. It's the old style Irish welcome married to the creature comforts of a mofern hotel in a splendid rustic setting only a short drive from the town of Killarney.
I wish I could live here in this place, forever.
