We have stayed at the Hat Head Holiday Park for the past 15 years over the December / January break. If you want a generally quiet, out of the way corner of the world, Hat Head is a place well worth consideration. Facilities are limited, however the scenery is fantastic, the main beach faces north (believe it or not) so is generally protected from the open ocean, and the weather is generally fine if not a bit windy at this time of year.
There are numbers of bush walks, the best of which are around the 'Head' and along the coast to Connors Beach and beyond.
Fishing along the beaches and rocks, like most places these days, is a bit patchy but sometimes surprises.
We keep coming back!
