We stayed at Knockaloe Beg farm on our first trip to the IOM and couldn't have been happier. The owners were away so we were wonderfully looked after by Angie and her family. The bedroom, communal lounge and dining room were all extremely comfortable and breakfast was fantastic.
The location is excellent, in easy reach of the lovely town of Peel, and central to routes to all parts of the island. really good walks and climbs straight from the farm too.

We stayed at knockaloe beg farm during the I o m tt festival. Accommodation very comfortable and clean. Breakfast selection excellent. Manx kippers and scrambled eggs a must. Excellent location, quiet but very accessible for all the island. Would recommend this to anyone. Home baked items left in the room daily. Very friendly family. Well worth a visit.

Anyone who has yet to visit this enchanted isle is missing out. The farm is situated just south of Peel, the main city on the west of the isle and therefore quite easy to find. A host of great facilities and such lovely people & friendly animals. Easy to book on-line, with Manx Tourist Board endorsement and excellent value for money. With those infamous Manx cooked breakfasts what more can we say. If only the weather had been kinder but with stunning views and bracing nearby walks, we had plenty to occupy ourselves. We left feeling we were members of the family. Keep up the good work John and Fiona. Hope to see you soon.

The farm is easy to find and within easy reach of public transport. We stayed here in May 2012 and had a fantastic time. The welcome was very warm and friendly; rooms were excellent with wonderful views over the IOM countryside and the breakfast set you up for the day. The guest lounge was comfortable with a large woodburning fire for those chilly evenings. The opportunity to help feed the lambs and chickens and take the horses to the field was too good to miss. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners. Would we stay there again .. you bet we will.. but don't tell everyone or the farm will be fully booked and we won't get in!!.

Room Tip: Our room was at the front, getting the sun and views but we can't comment on the other rooms.

I can only endorse what previous reviewers have said about the hospitality and facilities at Knockaloe Beg. But I'd also like to mention that it's a real treat for animal lovers and people who want to see a bit of life on a working farm. Feeding the lambs wasn't quite the peaceful experience I might have imagined. But I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
I'd heartily recommend a stay here.

We have recently returned from four nights at Knockaloe Beg Farm and cannot praise it highly enough. Fiona greeted us warmly and made us welcome with tea and home made flapjacks, which were delicious.
We were in room 2, which had lovely views across the fields towards Peel with the hills in the background. Not only was the bed extremely comfortable but the extra touches of a small tin of home made cake, extra waste paper bins for recycling, dressing robes on the back of the en-suite door, fantastic smelling organic toiletries and a basket of all the little things you might have forgotten made this an out of the ordinary B and B.
The guest lounge was large and comfortable with enough local information to have kept you happy for weeks, and the breakfast was delicious.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have a better view.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Knockaloe Beg Farm was rebuilt in 2007 as a modern, energy efficient building with a traditional feel. It has 5 en-suite double or twin bedrooms and a lovely private guest lounge with wood burning stove. It is part of our working farm where we milk 200 cows and breed from 800 ewes so lambing time is very busy and exciting! Our bedrooms all have really comfy, super king sized, zip and link beds with goose down duvets and large showers or baths. Breakfasts have gained a 'Breakfast Award' for being high quality as well as local, homemade, fairtrade or organic. We pride ourselves on our environmental awareness. The house is up a private farm lane so is very quiet with stunning views across open countryside and only a 20 minute walk to the sea. ... more   less
