We loved the farm! We stayed for two days last spring. Fiona was so good to us and the whole family was so accommodating. Our youngest children loved helping feed the baby lambs. Our older kids enjoyed hiking up the hill near by. We stayed in the main house. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and had plenty of space for us and our luggage. Breakfast every morning was wonderful. Knowing that most of the food came from the farm or from there locally was an extra fun treat. We loved everything about our experience there and we all long to be able to return someday! We felt very at home!

We loved our stay at Knockaloe Beg this past August. The entire family welcomed us and were friendly and helpful. We wanted to stay near Peel and Patrick, so the location was perfect for those locations and the entire island. The farm and the views were incredible! We took advantage of the public footpaths to walk from our guesthouse to Peel Castle and back, visiting Corrin's Tower along the way. Coming from the US, Fiona was very accommodating regarding our reservation dates and payments. Our room was lovely and the breakfasts were made to order and incredible... especially the rhubarb compote! Fiona and the family were helpful with directions, had maps available and suggestions of good places to eat and visit nearby. We would definitely recommend staying at Knockaloe Beg.

Five of us, 3 adults and 2 children, stayed in the self-catering cottage,The Stables, during October half-term. This was one of the best appointed holiday cottages I've stayed in. Superb bed-linen & towels (including dressing gowns), crockery, kitchen equipment etc. And such a friendly welcome from Fiona.
The cottage is well-placed for exploring the island and has lovely views of the hills.
The boys enjoyed having chickens and sheep coming close to the back door, and particularly liked the friendly Manx kittens.

There was only one small problem - the lane up from the Patrick road. It was narrow and twisting and meeting a tractor meant careful driving ! Apart from that our family had an excellent stay there with very friendly people and excellent accommodation. I was born in Peel and I knew about the coastguard houses there but not about the farm. The elder Mrs Anderson knew many of my relations and then presented me with a book about the town and its fishing fleet lasting about 50 years ending after the WW1. I am hoping that I shall visit this 'home from home' with my family again in the very near future.

We were a group of 5 friends walking the Isle of man coastal path when we stayed at Knockaloe beg in April 2012.We had experienced a long day walking from Port St Mary and were immensely relieved to receive such a warm welcome from Fiona even though we were later arriving than anticipated. She was so helpful in enabling us to get a "takeaway" evening meal as we really did not want to walk another step!
The whole place had such a friendly atmosphere with comfortable rooms and an excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. the property is in an excellent location and of course part of a working farm which meant that 3 of us even had the chance to help with bottle feeding the lambs ! We have already recommended knockaloe beg to other friends heading for the Isle of Man.

We stayed at Knockaloe Beg for a weekend the end of July,to attend a wedding at Peel Castle. Unfortunately we didn`t meet Fiona and John and family as they were away but we were looked after whatever! It must be reassurring to Fiona to know that she can leave the farm in such capable hands! From the moment we arrived all our needs were met, from a most welcome cup of tea and cake to all local infomation about the area and transport etc. The location is very central, the rooms were spotless and if we had forgotten anything all toiletries were on hand. The breakfast was second to none it really set you up for the day. If we ever visit the I.O.M again here will most certainly be our first choice of accomodation.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Knockaloe Beg Farm was rebuilt in 2007 as a modern, energy efficient building with a traditional feel. It has 5 en-suite double or twin bedrooms and a lovely private guest lounge with wood burning stove. It is part of our working farm where we milk 200 cows and breed from 800 ewes so lambing time is very busy and exciting! Our bedrooms all have really comfy, super king sized, zip and link beds with goose down duvets and large showers or baths. Breakfasts have gained a 'Breakfast Award' for being high quality as well as local, homemade, fairtrade or organic. We pride ourselves on our environmental awareness. The house is up a private farm lane so is very quiet with stunning views across open countryside and only a 20 minute walk to the sea. ... more   less
