“Trip of a life time”
Review of 4X4 Adventures

This 2 day 4x4 trip up into the Southern Alps of New Zealand was a simply amazing. We were picked up from our hotel by 2 wonderful people. They looked after us, showed us beautiful and inspiring places. They fed us with tea, coffee and home made cakes and a packed lunch. We went by rough tracks to beautiful lakes and towering hills and mountains.
We spent the night in an isolated valley and next morning watched Merino sheep being shorn.
Sandi and Phil also have a great knowledge of the area and many other places, they know the plants and animals and have a few good tales to tell.
For anyone who loves to see the quiet places and learn about the heart of NZ,s South Island I can't recommend them more highly.

I began communicating with Sandi Cooke whilst planning our family Christmas trip to New Zealand. She was an absolute wealth of information and gave me many ideas of things to see and do during the week and a half we were there. She and her husband Phil have set the standard for what a tour and tour guide SHOULD be! After having spent 2 full days with them we were spoiled leaving other guides enormous shoes to fill! If you have the good fortune to be able to travel to the South Island, do yourself a favor and make sure to book at LEAST one tour (more if time permits) with Phil and Sandi Cooke (owners of 4x4 Adventures)! The homemade food they provided was scrumptious. You'll thank me for the suggestion!!! They are wonderful people with encyclopedic knowledge of their land and thoroughly amusing to boot! Cheers!!!

It goes without saying that this area of the world is unbelievable but the tour was made that much better because of the phenomenal guides, Phil and Sandi. They were perfect, thats the only way to describe how attentive and helpful they were. A great experience, highly recommended.

4X4 Adventures – Lord of the Rings Whole Day Tour, South Island
Hosts – Phil and Sandi Cooke

This was by far the best and tour of our whole visit to New Zealand (inc both South and North Islands). Phil and Sandi were phenomenal guides, extremely knowledgeable about the stunning country my husband and I had chosen to visit, they responded to our wishes, were exceptionally good company, they provided wonderful refreshments throughout the day and were very passionate and knowledgeable about New Zealand (the history, the land, the wildlife, the flora and fauna) and were very good company. They picked us up from our Camp Site (only the two of us!) and our wonderful experience started immediately. When we visited the Lord of the Rings film sites, again their knowledge shone through and it was an extremely stunning, awesome and emotional time.

They also gave us some great help and suggestions to help make the most of our visit to the South Island of New Zealand.

I would recommend 4x4 Adventure Tours with Phil and/or Sandi wholeheartedly and without any reservations.
