“Great villa in tropic woods”
Reviewed 8 July 2013

My first day in Bali and this is really good place for couple. The best part is, you can add 2 more people since it can share a big hall with great view.

This hotel is just beside the Telega waja river and you can experience tropic woods and quite morning in your hall, or the private pool. The best part is there is a private shower place open in the air and you just feel in the nature!

The swimming pool is also cool with edgeless to the woods.

BTW: wifi signal is good no matter in villa or open air.

The place was very tranquil, quiet. Our villa was spacious, very clean and well-maintained. We were very pleased with that. The sheets were fresh and the complimentary fruits were good. Staffs were all friendly, no complaint at all. Pool was excellent, like other review pointed out, we went to the pool when nobody else did, and the feeling was great!
Villa had plunge pool and outdoor shower.
The restaurant served decent meals, although we waited a very long time for our food to be served. Maybe this is one area that could use some improvement.
We really enjoyed our stay at Masari.

Room Tip: You might need to arrange for transport while staying at Masari.

Pros : quite place. excellent service. good facility. good restaurant. nice private pool. huge living room

Cons : in the middle of village. not pleasant to take a walk out of villa. 30 minutes driving to Ubud and 1 hour driving to Kutas and 30 minuets to Sanur. At night we need to take a taxi to go out for dinner. It was a little bit tired. But on full day rent car with a driver was not expensive though, 30-50 dollars. If you have children, it is good location since several zoos are close to the villa.

Our trip was during X-mas, so the traffice to Kutas was severe.

Room Tip: The room number 1 we stayed was the biggest one I guess and very good privacy and nice front view.

Back again - we love the solitude of this place. The staff are always friendly and attentive, the gardens are well maintained, the spa is excellent while a little pricey, and the meals are beautiful.
The rooms are great, and all have their own balcony, looking down to the river Petanu.
Shuttles are available, and we usually go to Sukawati to look at their art, which is a third of the price of Kuta. Sukawati is only 5 minutes away.
The outdoor shower is great - it runs as one stream of water - when you first see it it looks weird, but it works really well.
There is never any noise, and anything minor that we have reported over the years has been fixed promptly.
The best thing about this hotel for us, apart from the staff, is the pool - we are often the only ones in it, and you can look out over the valley - it is about as peaceful as you can get. Hopefully will be back again next year.

Room Tip: all rooms have roughly the same aspect - we have stayed in most. Closer to the top means less stairs...

The villas are spacious and clean with your own private plunge pool and outside shower! Wifi, tv and DVDs on site if you need the outside world. The staff are welcoming, friendly, efficient, polite and provide exceptional service. So worth a stay, even for a couple of nights to get fully relaxed before you hit the hubbub of the likes of Kuta

The tranquility and the setting is stunning - set away from the hustle and bustle, this really is a little piece of paradise! Wayan (one of the many in Bali), our driver was the most amazing gentleman who graciously assisted us well above and beyond the call of duty! The gardens are beautifully maintained, the spa is in the most incredible setting for a truly relaxing and pampering session.
The staff at the complex were friendly, accommodating and beautiful people. Our villa was beautifully serviced each day, and while some little bits and pieces in the villa are looking a little bit tired, this no way detracts from the most amazing experience ever! the outdoor showers are magic. The pool well serviced and kept immaculate.
We looked forward to returning to our lil piece of paradise when the hawking and hassling of the urban areas got too much... The local Sukawati art market is a wee treasure trove. Bali Masari was the most amazing Bali experience, and we can't wait to go back!

We chose to stay in the village of Sukawati at Bali Masari Villas. We didn't want the hassle of Sanur or Kuta and had stayed recently in Ubud so wanted to be near to Ubud for shopping and meals.
The resort was well appointed with views onto hills over a river. The restaurant was open long hours and catered for every meal and did room and poolside service. The staff were attentive and helpful and the rooms and grounds clean and well cared for. The hotel spa facility of massages and manicure/pedicure treatments was really pleasant.
We had our own plunge pool as well as the hotel's magnificent infinity pool where we spent many hours swimming or relaxing poolside. The drivers attached to the hotels took us wherever we wanted to go and waited for us and were well priced. I would recommend Bali Masari Villas for couples or families who don't want the noise and hassle of busy places and like to relax without the noise of traffic or of hawkers trying to sell things on beaches or over fences. A local temple was having celebrations nearby which lasted for 3 days and the sound of chanting and gamelan drifted down the valley...but how Bali it sounded. Sanur was about 20 minutes drive away for dinners and Ubud was 25 minutes away by car. It was always lovely to return to our villa, the view, the pool and peace.

Room Tip: Lots of steps to the lower rooms. upper villas have best view and less steps.
