Casa Santa Pola was a top dining choice before we arrived in Ronda because of its place in our tour books and close friends who were married in Ronda and have eaten here many times (and are notorious foodies). We were not disappointed with our experience on Easter Sunday. My fiancé and I shared the giant esparagus tempura special. The esparagus themselves were giant and the portion was as well (it was 14 euro after all). It was a nice incorporation of local ingredients- the next day in Antequera we saw women selling giant esparagus from baskets. My fiancé is still talking about the lamb shank with rosemary and honey- it was cooked to perfection and just the right combination of sweet and savory. The salmon with aioli was somewhat disappointing as the aioli was not very flavorful and did not complement the salmon as we had hoped. The chocolate ganache was as decadent as we'd hoped for.
The service was friendly and very attentive. We would definitely come back for the lamb if we are back in Ronda!
