My wife and I stayed here between the 7th-10th August, what can we say apart from WOW.

The place is a real gem, we stayed in the apartment facing the town hall and the views were beautiful, Hidle the lovely owner was on hand whenever needed with good advice on bars, restaurants, places to visit etc etc. ( its a good sign on a night out when your in the same bar as her) the town of Ronda is possibly the most beautiful we have visited (also Frigiliana) and we are already looking at next years dates to return. On the Saturday we were lucky enough to witness a traditional Spanish wedding taking place right under our noses, this was an amazing sight to behold. We went on a visit to a local vineyard, again on recommendation from Hilde which I had pre booked in the UK and that was another experience not to be forgotten. The apartment has everything you need and more, parking is not an issue really as you can leave the car at the bottom of the hill and wander up through the winding streets (5 mins) there is no pool so we ventured to the municipal pool about 15 minutes walk from the apartment, not a normal walk though as it takes you through Moorish ruins and past the Arab baths. it cost 2 euro each and was well worth it as the temperature was touching 38`c. the evenings were spent admiring the stunning views over the new bridge and wandering the winding streets to the tavernas and restaurants in and around the Plaza Espania where we were paying 1 euro for drinks and the same for tapas which were amazing.
All in all this was a most memorable trip away, (we spent time in Granada, Frigiliana and Marbella) and we will definately be returning to this beautiful apartment and Town very soon indeed.

Room Tip: Front facing towards the town hall

We loved our 9 day stay in this quiet, clean, roomy apartment. We chose one facing the back (without the view of the plaza and the mountains) because it had a private terrace, and it was cooler and quieter. Location is perfect for walking anywhere in Ronda. The decor had an old fashioned charm, and everything worked perfectly. Our landlady Hilde went out of her way to help us. And the price was very reasonable. We would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: The apartments facing the back are quieter than the ones facing the plaza. There is always some nois...

Ideal location near the town hall at a pittoresque medieval square (no parking allowed).
Nice, spacious, clean and comfortable apartment. Friendly and efficient reception (Belgian owner). Complete kitchen equipment. Price-quality is very good.
Everything you want to see in Ronda (and that's a lot) is on walking distance.
Many tapas, terrasses and restaurants near the apartment.
A perfect stay!

Room Tip: Ask for a frontside room, so you'll have the best view.

Do not miss Ronda. It is amazing and gorgeous. The drive uphill from the coast of Marbella to Ronda is a pleasant and very windy and scenic route.

La Colegiata is right in the square where the town hall is. Restaurant next door (or below in our case as our apartment is on the first floor) is great. Very spacious apartment with living room (dining table, sofa, washing machine, fridge, kitchenette etc – self contained) and separate spacious double bed room. We had the room overlooking the square. The shower is fantastic – did not want to get out. Check in either 12-2.30pm or after 5pm. We got here at 2pm. Parked the car in front of the restaurant with a notice (provided by reception to park there for 10 mins to unload bags). Then go diagonally across the square to public car park (less than 5 mins). Come back to get the car ticket stamped and pay Euro 10 to reception (instead of Euro 15 at car park booth).

Check in a breeze. Run by German Hildi who spoke great English. If you are leaving before 10am, you settle the bill upon check in then you leave the key in the door when you leave next morning. Upon check in, everything is explained with all the attractions. I had hesitations with apartments when my hubby wanted to book but I could stay in this apartment for a week in Ronda. I preferred it to a hotel room in fact. You could not get this room at this price in any hotel. Ronda is a small town so nothing is far away. All the attractions and walks are easily accessible from the apartment.

There are 3 major walks that would take about an hour each including all the stops, photograph time etc. Leave the last walk that is in the direct path of the afternoon sun. This is also the longest walk with lots of interesting deviations (took us about 1.5 hrs). This is also the path that takes you down to the river under the bridge and if you are really fit, there’s also handles along the sides of the rock to climb up or down. Also for the fit, you have another path that takes you to the bottom of the waterfall. This walk takes you around the olive hills passing the horse studs and back up the old city near the town hall. The first walk takes you to the “back” of the walls where the public Arab baths and the palace are. There is a lower bridge. This walk takes you around crossing the lower bridge and ends ups at the top bridge near Don Miguel (on the opposite side where you started walking). We stopped at Don Miguel for a jug of sangria before doing our next walk (this took us about an hour). The second walk (same side of the third walk or the afternoon sun) takes you along the top, around the very nice hotel and cliff sides, passing the bull ring and gardens, finishing along the main drag of the town. This is the shortest and easiest walk – flat terrain (took us under an hour).

This is the place for you if you like to stay in old hotels in the center of historic cities. It is located directly across from the plaza in the old city and next door to the Church of Santa Maria. There are nice little cafés and a restaurant outside the door. It was close to many of the sights we wanted to see, for example, a short walk to the New Bridge, and just a couple blocks to the Palace, etc. While there is no parking on site, you can stop in front to unload your luggage, and parking is just a couple of blocks away and costs only 10€ per day. We had the front suite overlooking the square on the first floor (second floor to us Americans) with 4 large doors opening over the square and even a window in the private bath overlooking the church. We had perfect quiet to sleep in April, even leaving a door open to the fresh air.

We had a large bedroom with a double bed and the bed was perfectly comfortable. It wasn't queen size and no pillow top, but we slept very well. The outer room was so bright and cheerful during sunlight hours. It has a kitchen area with everything we needed from refrigerator and microwave to toaster, coffee maker, electric kettle and necessary dishes. It was supplied with coffee and tea and so on. We did not use the washing machine.

Yes, some of the furniture is a bit marred but the huge beautiful wooden doors, armoire, flowers...I can only sigh for having to leave after only two nights. Oh, the shower is large with plenty of hot water. There is an elevator. Everything is spotlessly clean. Nice towels, extra pillows, etc.

Then there is Hilde, a gem. She speaks perfect English and gave us maps, suggestions, checked on us. She promptly responded to an email I sent requesting information about check in and parking.

We would return for the view alone!

Room Tip: Get the two room suite with the huge doors opening over the square!

We usually look for Vacation rentals for our trips.
We found this lovely place by chance when we were walking thru Ronda (as it did not appear under "Vacation rental" in Tripadvisor)
We were thrilled to fide such nice and well equipped apartment - just what we were looking for and not expensive.
Hilde – the owner – speaks very good English and was very helpful in planning our trip in the area.
