Reina Victoria in Ronda. This is basically a magisterial older hotel in the newer side of Ronda that has undergone a significant refurbishing. That new decoration was in our opinion a little over the top modern for the basic hotel. Our room had one of the most beautiful views we have ever seen, looking out to the mountains and valleys. The staff was very thoughtful and well trained.

Room Tip: Get a room looking out the back onto the mountains--exceptional

Ronda is spectacular so I booked a special nights stay 29th May 2014 at the Catalonia Reina Victoria. 1 double for my grand daughter which was ok, virtually no natural light hits the window (room 133), but she didn't mind. My wife and I had a superior room with a private terrace and a view. The first room (112) looked straight into a palm tree, we asked to move, they gave us 118 which had a glimpse of the magnificent view between the palm trees depending where you stood, but there was a hideous smell coming from the shower, we asked them to look at it, but instead, they moved us to room 122 (partial view no smell). In this room the trendy tap was stiff and difficult to turn off causing water to track down wetting the hair dryer creating a big puddling on the floor.
The wc was behind a glass door obscured from calf height up, and was bizarrely situated in the lounge area as was the shower both in full view of the sofa and bed. That was horrible.
The breakfast buffet was fruit (nice) cold scrambled eggs cold bacon and slightly warmer sausages. Didn't try the spa as I thought that I had wasted enough money.
On check out they were concerned and saddened by our experience but could only pass our comments on if I chose to write the company a letter. I asked for the complaints book and was given it only after going through the whole thing again with the management and insisting that I be given it. Dialog more or less stopped at this point. The view from the ground floor and garden is breathtaking.

Room Tip: Go to another hotel!

We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of an Andalusian holiday. We could not fault the amazing views from our double room with Tajo view and the short walk to the town and old town of Ronda. We also had great service at breakfast but the down side was the size of our room. Whilst we did not let it bother us too much, we noticed that the double room was so small and compact that we, a husband & wife traveling together with 21 inch cases each with wheels struggled to comfortably have our cases open & accessible at the same time. The bathroom is also slightly strange in that the toilet was separate and the shower stall opened into the general bedroom area. This did not bother us but can be awkward for some travellers requiring space. The balcony space made up for the tiny room. One other thing to note is that the floors of the hotel are wood floorboards making every small sound and footstep highly audible and can be a problem for light sleepers. We enjoyed our stay but would probably splurge for a bigger room and ask for one at the end of a hallway if possible. The views were incredible both from the room, the back terrace of the hotel and made up for some of the negative aspects of our stay. Would rate this place a 3 out of 5 despite the friendly service.

The location is fantastic. It has amazing views of the valley and is a short stroll to the bridge and shops. The terrace is a great place to watch the sun go down over the valley.

The hotel decor is a lovely combination of old meets new, the rooms are modern with the decor true to its surroundings.

The in house restaurant is very good! The breakfast is substantial and dinner was fantastic.

Only down side is the wireless signal in the rooms is weak, however in the communal areas this is not a problem.

My Fiancé and I stayed here having heard many great reviews about this hotel. The hotel is in a great location, on the main road straight into the main town area / Bull ring and New Bridge. We were greeted by a very helpful and friendly Pablo on Reception, who gave us tips on the sights and where to eat. Our room was situated on the first floor, with the balcony overlooking the Tajo gorge. Highly recommend booking a room with this view!
The room (Superior Terrace) was large and spacious, with two flat screen TVs and rain shower. The bed was very comfy and long (we are both 6 ft tall!) and there is a 'Pillow menu' to choose from.
We didn't use the Spa, but the hotel pool was lovely and had good views of the gorge.
The breakfast selection was brilliant and all the staff we encountered were very friendly and polite.
We really enjoyed our trip to this hotel and would love to return again!

Room Tip: Book rooms with a terrace and view of the gorge.

We stayed here for 2 nights having read a lot of reviews. The hotel is a bit further out, about 5-7 minutes walk to the New Bridge. As a treat, we booked ourselves into one of the Superior terrace rooms - slightly disappointed that the views were ruined by a palm tree right outside our terrace. This also meant that we had no sun in the evening on it.
But, the room itself was nice - the bed was hard (great), as were the pillows (not so great).
We made good use of the pool area, with great views over the gorge, lots of sunbeds, although no towels were provided. The spa was good as well. And, not forgetting the great breakfast selection! Also, special mention to Pablo on reception who was very helpful.

Room Tip: Make sure you don't get Room 111 or 112 as these have the palm tree right in front.

This is night three of a five night stay. The hotel is in a good location to the main town. It has stunning views to the rear of the hotel, over looking the mountains and the gorge. Watch the sun go down. Fantastic sunsets. However during our stay, although it was hot and sunny the winds were very brisk to say the least.
The hotel is of modern decor and spotlessly clean throughout. We had a junior suite with balcony views. Very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Special mention to Pablo on the front desk and to Jośe in the bar. Very helpful.
Mixed reaction to the food. Our first night experience in the restaurant was not a happy one! After a considerable wait for our main course, we were served the wrong order. When our correct dishes were served, the were almost cold and un edible. At this point we left. I think the main problems occurred due to staff shortages. Hopefully we have agreed a satisfactory conclusion to the problems.
However we did fair much better with the substantial bar food on offer. We were also happy with the breakfast buffet. Plenty to choose from.

The gardens are also very well maintained and manicured. The pool looked inviting. However it was not heated so did not take the plunge! The spar area looked to be of a high standard, but did not use it. This was a chill out trip for my wife. It fitted the brief.

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear offer the best views.
