“A boutique gem”
Reviewed 22 June 2013 via mobile

The charming and very helpful owner operator certainly has an eye for style and knows what hospitality really means, both often sadly lacking in Eu hotels.
Of the many hotels and resorts we stayed at over the last 7 weeks, this is the one property that we would definitely return to and the one we would always recommend .

I hate doing this because I want to keep this pearl to myself! But that wouldn't be correct towards Marivi ! She has made this old Ronda-house into a wonderful hotel by mixing the original features with tasteful and practical design. The house hasn't lost its character but became practical, modern but still with a "soul". A great home-made breakfast but served in a classy way and personal attention: we loved it and if we go back to Ronda: this is the place to stay for peace, quiet and beauty. Thank you Marivi, we'll pass the address on and we were honoured to stay in your "gem" And thanks for all the tips on dining and sightseeing!!!Good luck and hope to come back, Christel and Rudi from Mechelen, Belgium

Room Tip: just tell Marivi what you want, she'll take care of you!

One gets so excited when you find a place like this!! We absolutely fell in love with this wonderful boutique hotel, which feels like a 5 star hotel. The bathroom was amazing, linens and art work were perfectly selected. Marivi was an amazing hostess and she took the time to show us the highlights of Ronda on a map and restaurants to try out. She has poured her heart and soul into her B&B and it shows. Hope we can return to Aire de Ronda again.

As a result of the number of good reviews on tripadvisor, my wife and I stayed here for two nights recently. Our overriding memory of the place is that it is a bit of a mixed bag, with some positive points, but also negative ones.
Overall, we would say that €120 per night did not represent value for money, especially compared against a 4 star hotel we stayed in the 3 nights previously, for €80 in Jerez. If you are willing to pay a premium for a nicely converted old property then you might enjoy, but there are plenty of alternatives in Ronda of a similar type.
Positives:
1. The owner/host is pleasant and friendly. If you want to chat all day and make a friend she will oblige you with her company.
2. Nice welcome pack of water, biscuits and sweets.
3. The rooms are comfortable, and there is a lounge for guests use.
Negatives:
1. As a middle aged married couple we did not welcome being told not the drag our bags (with wheels)across the bedroom floor on arrival, so that the varnished floorboards were not scrapped.
2. Cellophane wrapped croissants should not be provided as breakfast in an establishment that portrays itself as boutique. Any thoughts of a luxury breakfast were immediately quashed.
3. Breakfast was a major dissapointment. No choice is given. You are provided with what the owner wants to give you. Fruit will be banana on day1, kiwi on day2. Juice will be orange. The cooked breakfast option is eggs and bacon (for which you must be there by 9.30am). If you just want toast then look forward to 2 slices of baguette chargrilled. Cheese will be one type.
4. There was no shower gel on day1, and no bath mat on day2.
5. There is no bath or bidet in the superior room.

For starter this is not a guesthouse but a real hotel, not sure were Tripadvisor got their information. The place is very well appointed with lots of luxury amenity found in 5 star hotel. The hostess and owner was amazing and full of information about ronda and the surrounding .
Breakfast was 5 stars treat with white linen and everything you will expect to see when you stay in a luxury resort.
We ad a meal cooked by the owner the evening of our arrival and it was simply amazing. The room was huge with very comfy bed and massive luxurious bathroom and very quiet.
Parking was not a problem at all, plenty space for free outside in the street.
Airederonda was the highlight of our trip to Spain and if we ad to go back to Spain it will be to stay there for 2 weeks enjoying good food, great comfort and peace in beautiful surrounding.
Thank you again.

Room Tip: Just enjoyed:)

Let me start by saying Marivi is the perfect hostess. We arrived early on the day of our overnight stay and she was able to let us drop off our overnight bag. She then gave us a local map and gave us a great explanation of how best to go about our visit to Ronda. She marked specific areas on the map which was of great help, as there are many different ways to get to the same place in Ronda, but with varying degrees of difficulty. Ronda is not the best place to visit if you have mobility problems or use a non motorised form of wheelchair.
Aire de Ronda is a very special place, Mariviv has put her heart and soul into renovating the building and her efforts have paid off very well. Her eye for detail is second to none. Aire de Ronda is relaxing, peaceful, clean and very comfortable. All rooms have independently controlled air conditioning. The seating area in the back of the B&B is great to have a hot drink and a chat around the log burner. Also if you go in the winter months try walking in bear feet on the marble floor downstairs, its got underfloor heating. Breakfast was just right for the day ahead and the coffee is exquisite. Will definitely go back later this year to see Marivi and the beautiful place of Ronda.

Aire de Ronda is a special place. Marivi is a perfect hostess - she can be both an animated conversationalist/storyteller, or as cordial and professional as guests desire - and gave AWESOME rstaurant/walking tour recommendations! She has a passion for what she is doing, and it shows. The photos of the hotel's restoration are stunning, and the bed we had in the standard room is one of the best we've had in the world. It's like a big marshmallow. Breakfast was fantastic. I can't recommend Aire de Ronda highly enough!
