“Excellent place”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

It was not the first time we came here and I am sure we will come back again. This is such a nice and relaxing place. From the first moment you arrive, you feel at home at this old rebuilded school on a hill with a maginficent view. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast is excellent and a surprise every morning. Luc and Maria are very kind and helpfull with whatever you need: walking, biking, visiting interesting places, finding a good restaurant or tapasbar.
This is the place to be in Andalousie

We have had a great holliday at the B&B of Luc and Marja, a very hospitable couple. They are always ready to answer your questions and are very generous in giving tips about what there is to do in the wide surroundings.
People who are looking for a relaxing environment will love it here.
The rooms are good-looking and well equipped. At the swimming pool or on the large terrace you can enjoy the nice view and the total quiet.
The breakfast that you're getting served in is unforgettable. Every morning a delightful surprise comes by.
The nearest village is Setenil, with its small and steep streets and houses build underneath the rocks. You can eat tasty tapas here in one of the charming bars.
The city of ronda is also nearby, where there's always something to experience.
In brief, the place to be in Andalucia!

Meanwhile we visited La Escuela del Campo already 4 times. It speaks for itself, not? We keep returning to this magnificent spot because it is such a nice and peaceful B&B. It is located right under the old ruins of Acinipo (Ronda La Vieja) and there is no doubt the Romans knew why they should be over there... just as we do.
Luc and Maria, a Belgian couple, make you feel at home from the very first minute. Maria prepares the most extraordinary breakfasts which contain so much surprising combinations and originality. Luc acts as the perfect local guide as he knows the region very well. If you like cycling, check with Luc to make the bike trip Via Verde.

The place itself is in fact an old school and has 3 double rooms. You can also sleep in the old chapel or in the adjacent ‘apartment’ which has 3 rooms and its own kitchen. The bar/breakfast room is situated in the old classroom where you can also find some old pictures from the school.
On hot days you can swim in the pool and on cold days you can sit in the dining room to read a book next to the fire. While heaving your royal breakfast on the terrace you look on the beautiful olive gardens and the Sierra de las Nieves.

One thing you really need in La Escuela del Campo is a car as the closest town is the small and cosy white village of Setenil de las Bodegas. It is about 7 km away and has some good and cheap tapas bars (and Luc knows the specialities of each place). The town of Ronda itself is about 20 minutes by car.

Enjoy!!
