We stayed at the Paradore at the edge of the gorge so the bridge is “there” from the bar
It is a great structure in a beautiful natural setting
The old town is just over the bridge

Although "new bridge" is a misnomer since it was designed and built in the mid 1700s, it is the newest of the 3 bridges crossing the El Tajo ravine in Ronda. The ravine is 300+feet deep with vertical cliffs and only 200 feet wide where this bridge was built! No cranes, no power tools, only basic tools (levers, pulleys...) and manual labor/horses to construct it!! You have to marvel at their accomplishment!

Well worth a trip either by coach or by car. We went up the mountain from the other side and then came round to Ronda (Rondo) The drive up was something in itself. Views you just cannot describe! We did park quite a way from the Puente Nuevo Bridge so we walked about 30 minutes. What a surprise when we arrived! The town was very busy so be aware of the traffic and narrow pavements. Plenty of phograph opportunities on and around the bridge. Enjoy!

We took a day out of Frigiliana and drove 100 miles to visit Ronda.
Beautiful and traditional town, with its spectacular vistas and quaint shops and restaurants.

Ronda's most iconic monument is best seen from the edge of the gorge beneath the bridge.
The path down begins next to the Morabito resataurant
