We stayed here for only one night on our tour of Andalucia, and at the time of booking the hotel only had a standard double room available, whereas we would normally opt for something a little larger; but we were very pleasantly surprised that the room was of a good size, and with a lovely bathroom (complete with whirlpool bath). The whole house is magnificently furnished, and really feels like a house, not an hotel. The staff were excellent, and very helpful and friendly. We stopped outside the hotel to remove our luggage from the car, and were given directions to the local parking lot (Ronda has a lot of new parking restrictions) for which hotel residents get a discounted rate of Euros 9 per day, as opposed to the normal rate of Euros 15.

We had free wi-fi, and a very nice breakfast. The hotel has a lovely mini-cinema (quirky touch!!), and many signed photos of former famous guests. Value for money was terrific, and I would highly recommend it. Although you don’t get any stunning gorge views, it is only a few minutes walk from the centre of town, and in a lovely quiet position.

It doesn't come much better than this wonderful little hotel, almost a B&B, in beautiful Ronda. The only thing that would have made it better was being on the cliff with a view! My room was on the 2nd floor, had a double bed & faced the street, a fine bathroom, warm & comfy ambiance, quaint with very nice decorations. I had to close the shutters at night due to the street lights, but the A/C worked well. Small elevator, friendly & helpful staff, great breakfast buffet w/ excellent service, a small patio off the lobby & breakfast room, very nice lobby with overstuffed furniture that was far more a living room than a lobby. The downstairs bedroom was vacant & open when I was leaving, so I peaked inside -- Wow!! King size bed w/ wooden canopy, huge bathroom w/ 2 sinks. What a treat this room would be!

Great location, walkable to everything you might want to see in Ronda. Be sure to turn right out of the hotel entrance, wind your way down narrow little back alleys decorated in bougainvillea, head through the park & take the trail down into the canyon. You'll pass an old Roman Gate & have stunning views of the "New Bridge". Carry a little map with you as you walk through Old Town ... or not! You can't get too lost & everywhere you turn, it's a little piece of beauty & charm.

And this hotel is the perfect spot to enjoy it from! Don't do Ronda on a day stop -- it's definitely worth an overnight or even 2!

The accomodation arrangements we made fell through so we ended up at Hotel San Gabriel. Hotel is reasonable, well taken care of, clean, and homey. Staff is pleasant and extremely helpful. The front desk went above and beyond to help us with a car rental concern. Breakfast was delicious. In a good location with parking nearby.

Located in a charming narrow cobbled street in the old part of Ronda Hotel San Gabriel is full of history and great value. On arrival we were greeted enthusiastically and the owner seemed to be always available to help. The location is perfect - in the old part of town and only five minurtes wallk from the gorge yet very quiet - unless there is an early morning religious parade but even this has charm. Our standard double room was simple and rustic but clean and comfortable. Don't expect a king size bed - this was a standard double and it had one of those long narrow european pillows that you have to share. The only let down is the breakfast which is minimal (unless you pay extra for the eggs and bacon) and served in a rather tight little room which is a pity as there is a beautiful inner courtyard. All in all it was graet value and we would happily go back and maybe treat ourselves to one of the superior rooms

Room Tip: Note that there is no parking in the centre of Ronda. The hotel will direct you to a municipal lot...

We have spent a total of 2.5 years in Spain over a 20 year period & San Gabriel ( where we spent 6 nights ) is right up there with the best we have stayed in, including Parador de Alarcon, Parador de Carmona, Parador de Ubeda & Las Sirenas in Sagovia.
The service was great with very helpful staff & our suite ( Ground floor on the right of entrance) was excellent. The bathroom, so beautifully Spanish, was a big hit.
We enjoyed a number of restaurants on plaza Socorro from Churros Y chocolat to lunch & dinner, as well as the terrace of hotel & restaurant Don Miguel. A beautiful Moorish jug we bought is a constant reminder of our love of Ronda. My wife has also done a magnificent oil painting of the Moorish palace as seen from the new bridge.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one evening in April. Ronda was a beautiful, scenic spot; and this small scale hotel was delightful. The public spaces were very pleasant with interesting books and art; and our two room suite was comfortable, spacious, very clean, and attractively decorated. The staff seemed eager to accommodate any request. The location is great for exploring Ronda. This hotel exudes in warmth, charm, and comfort. We only wished we had planned two night there!

Room Tip: While we had a small suite, I doubt whether there is a bad room in this hotel.
