“great hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 December 2013

We loved our stay here - the hotel was romantic and the room was perfect. Plenty of space and the entire hotel was perfectly maintained. We loved the common spaces in the hotel as they were beautiful and added to the stay instead of feeling like an afterthought as is the case in so many European hotels. The service was also top notch and they were very helpful. Definitely a highlight of our trip and I highly recommend it.

We used this hotel as a start, middle and end point for a cycling trip through the white villages. A wonderful clean hotel with amazingly helpful, courteous staff. Very nice rooms and breakfast, complete with espresso. On the morning of our departure we had to leave much earlier than the breakfast service so the night before we had asked if it was possible to just have a coffee before we left. Incredibly, Daniel, the staff on duty in the morning, prepared an entire breakfast buffet for us. Truly outstanding service. Thank you Daniel!

Room Tip: Stayed in three different rooms, all different and all wonderful.

A lovely family run hotel, and great for exploring the old city. We would have enjoyed a greater choice at breakfast, but overall the service was good and the rooms were clean.Staff were friendly and spoke good English

The Hotel San Gabriel is a charming old town house centrally located in Ronda. The decor and furnishings make you think of Spanish Elegance of days gone by. We had a very comfortable, spacious room, nicely furnished and spotlessly clean. The friendly hotel staff were very helpful in advising us of things to do in Ronda - our tip is to see the Pileta Cave which we found fascinating. When arriving in Ronda by car the Hotel is well sign posted and easy to find. Pull up to the hotel and unload your bags. The receptionist will give directions to economical parking close by. And yes Rick Steves - we did spot your photo on the wall in the dining room. Also Robert Plant's

An absolute treat to the senses!! We felt like we were staying in a grand old Spanish estate the entire time. We were greeted by the hosts in a most kind and considerate manner and ushered into our quirky jr suite. Assisted with any and all our questions throughout the stay!

Bed was comfortable, the entire room was well put together and clean. Lots of charming decorations and lovely older woodwork abounded throughout.

Be sure to allow for alot of time to explore up and down the valley and ramble about the old city....an incredibly rich tapestry of texture, colour and history in its own right!

Recommendations for dining out were great! We didn't get the breakfast, and that was a mistake on our part. We'll have to correct it on our next visit ;-)

The only small detractor was the construction going on inside a neighbouring building, obviously utterly beyond the control of the hotel, but something to be aware of if you are enquiring about room location in the next little bit.

A wonderful family run hotel. Warm, friendly English and Spanish speaking staff. The hotel is great value, with all wifi, beautifully decorated tiled bathroom in room. We were upgraded to the honeymoon suite! Wonderful four poster bed, Andalucian tiled bathroom. The breakfast was included and all the usual plus omelettes etc on request. The piece de resistance a red velvet- seated mini cinema within, where staff will put a DVD on the big screen on request. The hotel is centrally situated and perfect to explore the city.
