“Good Choice in Ronda”
Reviewed 4 April 2013

Ronda is a "must see" when visiting Andalusia, and the San Francisco is a good place to stay when doing so. Location is central to sights and restaurants. The staff was welcoming and helpful in meeting requests - an extra pillow, etc. The room was spotlessly clean with a good bed and good shower. Although there are several public garages, I had no difficulty finding street parking.

We recently toured Andalusia, with this hotel being the 3rd stop on our list. If you are looking for inexpensive and a decent location, this hotel fits. The staff were polite and friendly, giving us good recommendations on sites and restaurants.

However, be warned that the rooms are smaller than even the standard European rooms and the pillows/mattress are extremely hard as well. I have a mild case of claustrophobia, and the room we has on the 3rd floor with slanted ceilings and a very small window made it difficult to be in the room for long.

It's hard to be too negative given the price we paid, but we will likely look for something at a higher quality if we go to Ronda again.

The Overlook Hotel's got nothing on this place. A bubbly Norweigian greeted us at the desk but neglected to inform us that the hot water didn't work and neither did the air heater, two very important facts when staying in a hotel in WINTER!!! The bed was even made without a duvet, instead there was one blanket in the cupboard!!! In the meatime jovial Mr Norway had disappeared and locked up leaving us to ring the emergency number to get hold of more blankets. After a terrible night's sleep the water was still not working the following morning after a promise to fix it. I hear they're making The Shining 2 - why not set it in Ronda? All blankets and no hot water makes Jack a sleep deprived boy. Ronda's beautiful, just stay somewhere else, if you like basic human necessities.

I visited Ronda for a few days back in June 2009. It was a pleasant stay, while there i found that the service was great, no problems in trying to get information on where to go in Ronda and how to get to other places in the Malaga area. I would visit again and I know it would suit my budget. I would highly recommend those who are visiting Ronda to book with Hotel San Francisco.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for a night while we were in Ronda. It's about ten minutes walking from the bus station and right next to the commercial street. It was very conveniently-located for all the sightseeing that we wanted to do. The hotel receptionists were all very professional and courteous and when we arrived at the hotel at noon (two hours before check-in), they were able to show us to our room. The room we stayed in was lovely and both the room and the bathroom had a balcony overlooking the street below. They do provide towels and bath soaps but not shampoo. Also, the beds were two single beds pushed together (as other reviewers have noted). We got an excellent deal over the internet so the price was definitely right for what we got. I can't comment on the breakfast because we decided to eat at a bar very close to the hotel called Café-Bar Forum, where they were serving a typical Andalusian breakfast for 2,50 Euros. All in all, I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an affordable place to stay while in Ronda.

An excellent location, just a few minutes walk away from the centre of Ronda (and therefore not noisy). Very good value for money. I just wish that they had some rooms with genuine double beds, but this doesn't seem to be a common feature of Spanish hotels. All the same, we'd stay there again.

This hotel is a budget gem... clean, fun decorations, huge bath, balcony (including one just for the bathroom) an easy walk to all that Ronda has to offer, good free wifi, and free breakfast (limited to coffee, OJ and toast, but still appreciated)
