“Prepare for the heat.”
Reviewed 10 August 2014

After staying in Amsterdam me and my parents went to this hotel. unfortunately our hotel was not ready, and we had to wait 2-4 hours in THE BOILING SUN. Some people can handle the heat, but I am a Canadian and so are my parents, and us Canucks burn easily. After our hotel was ready we drove there. We then discovered that there were very few basics in the cabin like soap and toilet paper, forcing us to go out and buy some at the market 20 minutes away. And the worst part is that they gave us a sauna but NO AIR CONDITIONER. Not even a fan. Me and my dad alone drank 10 liters of water each on the second day, however things got better and cooler, but still frustrating. Sleep for me was fine but my parents did not enjoy their bed. We had to pay for the wi-fi which was terrible. Also we had alot of trouble because most of the people there spoke very little English. This hotel is good for a large (rich) Dutch-speaking family who can deal with the heat, as the hotel is very kid friendly.

Room Tip: Try to get a private cabin so you do not have to be with strangers.

Lets start this review from the bottom line - It was perfect vacation for the family of 2 adults and 2 kids (2 and 5 yrs). So lets discribe it step by step :

1. Park located in Dutch national park Veluwe, super green territory with rabbits, squirrels , bugs, butterflies and foxes. Very clean, beautifull location.

2. Bungalors are nice, we had 3 sleeping rooms version (for 6 persons with parking slot) and fireplace. Very nice equipted kitchen.

3. Local facilities - Open pool, closed pool, lots of spots with seesaws and swings all over the forest . Very big indoor playing space for rainy weather.

Probably we will return there next year.

Best season June - July.

We spent 7 days at Rabbit Hill and had a fantastic time. We have 5 children, aged 4, 9, 10, 13 and 15 and had a really comfortable lodging with plenty of room for everyone. The beds were comfortable and it was very clean. The kitchen was very well equipped and there was one bathroom with a bath and shower. The bungalow was luxuriously equipped and designed, and very very comfortable. The only problem was that there was nowhere nearly enough cupboard space.

The facilities at Rabbit Hill are great, especially for smaller children (under 10). There is a very nice pool with a water slide and more, really nice mini golf, an amazing indoor play area, and much more. There is also a lot to do for older kids (mini golf, billiards, tennis, etc.) but it's better for the smaller ones. There are also a lot of excellent outdoor playgrounds, which is really nice.

Before coming to Rabbit Hill, we spent 5 days at the De Eemhof Centerparc. I think that the comparison is worthwhile mentioning. The bungalow that we received at Centerparc was also very nice, but the one at Rabbit Hill was significantly nicer than the one at De Eemhof. The advantages at De Eemhof were that there was lots of cupboard space and two separate showers. Otherwise, De Eemhof is also really nice, and it has the AquaMundo water park which is really incredible, especially for older kids. Interestingly, Rabbit Hill was significantly cheaper than De Eemhof when we ordered. I would say that if you have smaller kids, then Rabbit Hill could be preferable. The AquaMundo at De Eemhof is great also for smaller kids, but the indoor play area and outdoor playgrounds at Rabbit Hill beat De Eemhof. At both places you have lots of activities for all ages, but my feeling is that for kids under 10 Rabbit Hill is better, and for older kids De Eemhof is better.

Overall, we spent 12 days in the Netherlands; 5 days at De Eemhof and 7 days at Rabbit Hill. While at Rabbit Hill we did more excursions, and this combination worked out really well for us. I think that both parks are excellent and employees are really helpful at both. The main differences are:
1) Price
2) In Rabbit Hill you can take your car up to your lodging, whereas in De Eemhof you cannot
3) There are more activities for older kids at De Eemhof, and more activities for younger kids at Rabbit Hill

We rented 2 houses connected to each other 1 for my daughter her husband and the 3 grandchildren and one for my wife & I. Great location on the edge of the woods. Nice & quiet clean and modern. Plenty of things in the bungalo park for the kids to do. Swimming pool indoors & outdoors, indoor activity centre, tennis, childrens animal petting area.
Good food in the resturant and teh snack bar. Would reccomend this as a family holiday but be sure that you go in the off season period ( saves 50%) on the price.

Our family of 5 together with our friends booked for a week in April. We had paid for properties next door but when we arrived they couldn't put us together. To be honest it didn't dampen our week. Our detached bungalow was newly refurbished and had a dishwasher. My husband did a little dance when he saw it. The views from every window were of trees. We even saw red squirrels. This was our second landal site. We visited sonneburg in Germany last October and were taken with the facilities and reasonable prices. Rabbit hill didn't disappoint either. We used the pool twice. Ate in the restaurant on ribs and fries night. Had pizza from takeaway. Shop on site was fantastic and not overpriced either. Can't fault this place at all. Planning to book our next landal for later in the year.

The rabbit hill landal location is a very nice holiday bongalows in the woods. The bongalwos are nice and clean but very small!!another thing that was very strange and we didn't like that you got only one roll of toilet paper foe the family!! So you need to take that into consideration..also you it's nit a hotel so there is no room cleaning, no changing of linen nothing for the whole week..actually it's nice zimmer for sleeping and to go for your trips everyday.

We stayed in this park for 11 days (end March and the beginning of April) in the 4 person bungalow - 4C.
All the interior there was new, besides the dishes (that were pretty old and not very good - for example there was no one decent knife to cut vegetables etc.). The minus of this bungalow is its location, it is pretty far from main facilities (10 minute walk), but everything can be reached by a car and since it was very cold that what we did.

The bungalow is very comfortable, and well heated (besides nights - during nights there is an automatic turn off and it gets cold very quickly).

The beds are pretty comfortable (my husband thought they were too soft).

The park itself is great with everything young children love - indoor pool, indoor playground ( and the "indoor" here is very important since it was pretty cold when we stayed here -2C on average ). The outside facilities also seem very nice, although we did not use them.
You can find all details in the Landal site.

The restaurant is also fine with medium prices, as well as the supermarket.
We really enjoyed the Easter evening buffet -which was fantastic - very tasty food, plenty food.
On contrary, I did not like the child buffet.

We visited Amsterdam (1 hour drive), Burger Zoo -one of the nicest we visited in Europe (half an hour drive) and Juliana Toren Amusement Park - very expensive and almost nothing to do for kids above 4 years old (10 minute drive) and Apeldoorn Saturday Market - very, very nice market with food and clothes (10 minute drive) .

It was very cold, so we mostly spent time in the great pool and indoor playground and enjoyed our bungalow

The reception people were very friendly and gave us everything we asked for.

It is pity though that there is no free Internet in the park, even in the reception.

In overall apart from the cold weather we had a nice holiday.

Tips for reservation:

1. Do not take the comfort package (the one that includes tea, coffee, shampoo and soap) - too pricy for the amount you get.
2. We enjoyed the "Eat in Eat out" package, which was cheaper than the prices we would pay on the site.

Room Tip: Take a bungalow with dishwasher if you are going to cook a lot. The newly renovated bungalows hav...
