“Advertised Happy hour is not so happy!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2014

With great anticipation, traveling on the ferry back from Culebra, my family and I arrive at La Isla Verde, Carolina, the Playita Hotel, weaving through one the way streets where we arrive at the water front and indeed as promised the hotel is on the water! Arriving at sunset we checked in and received excellent attention at the front desk from a very professional young lady. At this point we immediately looked for the advertised happy hour at La Playita Restaurant and Bar offering half price drinks and immediately ordered two Mohitos. After having food with our drinks we were billed full price at the hefty rate of 9.50 each and decided to speak up about the happy hour price. The response we received was unacceptable and just plain Rude, so I asked for the manager. Turns out she was the manager! We were not informed the Mohito was excluded from happy hour, and we were treated inappropriately by this woman manager. Our good time turned into a very upsetting time. Unfortunately in response we left no tip which hurt us because normally we like to tip well for good service. Be aware, at Playita, happy hour is not so happy-

“Amazing!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2014

My husband and I ate here several times because it was so delicious. The restaurant is open, exposing guests to the spectacular ocean views and all food is hand-cooked on site. The crab cakes and the risotto were especially good. Don't forget to order the mojitos!

“Lunch with the ladies”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014 via mobile

We had a wonderful lunch here. The food was delicious and the drinks were great! The view of the ocean was amazing. However, for the dishes they served it was expensive. If you don't mind handing over the cash and your not on a budget this is a must go place. We had burgers, arugula salad, wraps, crab cakes all very good. Just make sure your okay with dropping 60$ a person if you have at least two drinks.

“Must have been an off night.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2014 via mobile

It came here with a group of 10 friends. Was a beautiful location but the food was subpar. The waitress was really friendly. The mofongo arrived with no sauce.... Very dry. The salad arrived without any salad dressing. I really wanted to like this restaurant but I didn't.
