On our recent trip to Puerto Rico My wife and I needed a change from all the fried food we had been eating. When we had passed Piu Bello my wife mentioned that there was one in our neighborhood in NYC so we decided to have a late dinner there.

It was just what we needed we both had turkey and bacon club sandwiches with came with a side of fries. They also had unsweetened ice tea. Our waitress was attentive and we did not suffer the usual long wait that is common in Puerto Rican restaurants.

Two nights later we needed something sweet for desert so we went back again for some of their Gelato. It was quite good, so good that a couple of nights later we went back for more. Piu Bello is perfect for a late night snack and dessert. If you're in the area and need that type of food fix give them a try.

We have eaten here twice now on our first trip to Puerto Rico. The food is great for the price as my family of three had plenty of food for about $30 without tax/tip on the first trip, and ~$45 on the second trip that included all meals/drinks, a piece of cake, order of Sorbet, and an apple turnover that were all great. The kids menu includes a meal, Gelato dessert and a drink for $7.50! We had a different waitress for each visit and both were very nice and personable. As usual for Puerto Rico, as it has been explained to us by some of the locals, the younger staff members spoke perfect English and Spanish so there is no issue there (neither my wife or I speak much Spanish), and the menu has both languages as well. We typically try to have a few nice meals in the more upper end restaurants while on vacation but for the in between "maintenance" meals we look for good deals that don't break the bank. And, since we like to avoid the typical USA fast food joint that we can have plenty of at home, this place fits the bill.

My family and I spent a week in Isla Verde at the Ritz-Carlton; we frequented Piu Bello daily, the food is incredibly fresh, great presentation and even better tasting. The staff is just awesome, very friendly, they treat you like family. Our trip simply would not have been the same if we hadn't discovered Piu Bello early on in our trip. I highly recommend stopping at Piu Bello while in the area, you will love the service and the food, what an outstanding crew. Much thanks to all of our friends there, Walter, Julio, Omi, Pedro!! We miss you all, we'll be back....Mickey and family.

The food at Piu Bello was some of the best we had for breakfast. The food was fresh, the fruit was delicious and the staff was incredibly friendly. This place looks like a throw-back diner, and offers a mix of traditional Puerto Rican food, as well as standard American breakfast fare. Great for families!
