There were good things about the hotel. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, good location, well run front desk. I would not return here with kids though. The beach has pretty big waves and a fairly strong current. At the pool there was a lady who walked around constantly and watched the kids. Everytime they jumped or splased she was on them to stop. I could totally see that if they were ruining other peoples time in the pool but there was no one else in there and they were being normal, well behaved 8-10 year old boys. It was over the top and made us feel unwelcome. The concierge...BRUTAL! Rude, snotty, and totally unhelpful. After the first time we skipped it and asked the parking guys outside. They were great. Food was pretty good but expensive.

THis is not your average Courtyard Marriott. It's on a beautiful beach in Puerto Rico and is more like a resort. The lobby pool area and restaurants are excellent and nice, Lots of places to sit and relax, you never feel crowded, and it's not noisy at all. No loud music. There are two hot tubs and a pool bar. Water at beach was amazing, beach service was great, chairs and umbrella's complimentary. Food and drinks were average but not bad.

Room was decent, simple but clean and comfortable, nothing to complain about. The hotel is a short walk from a few stores and restaurants.
Yes you here the noise from the planes taking off but who cares, it did not bother me at all.

I will def return here for a quick easy and inexpensive getaway

Great views (ask for ocean front) and great beach front setting--wonderful lounge sofas and hammocks, great lounge chairs and umbrellas (set up for you by helpful beach staff). All staff very friendly and helpful. Happy Hour was great value. This beach and access to it was better than the far pricier Ritz down the beach. Wide open, beautiful vistas as this hotel is last in the row. The only downside was the food--over priced and poor quality--disappointing for a Marriott. You don't need fancy food, just use local fresh ingredients. Also, be sure to use the complimentary bug spray at outdoor bar and front desk--"no see um" bugs at night are really bad in PR. Also, Marriott should spruce up the lobby and hallways--very tired decor, old carpeting--and the bathrooms in the rooms need a refresh. Airport noise never bothered us--can't hear in the rooms and on the beach it was never distracting.

Room Tip: High floor with full ocean view is worth the upgrade--side rooms have ocean view but also face an ugly building next door and have more airport noise.

We stayed at this property for 4 nights right before the Christmas break and really enjoyed every bit of it. The staff is courteous and speak fluent English. Being vegetarians, we had less choice for eating options, but the 2 restaurants in the hotel (Salsa, Sireno) were OK for veggie choices and prepared veggie food on request. There are also other snack places inside the hotel (e.g. Banana, where all the waiters and waitresses were very friendly and service-oriented) which was good, because we didn't rent a car and would have had no other choices for eating places. The room we were in was full ocean-facing and it was really nice to open the balcony door to hear and see the ocean. The hammocks in the beach front were really nice and the beach area was very clean and well-maintained. All in all, a great experience and we would certainly consider returning to this property anytime!

Room Tip: There is a lack of vegetarian options in the lobby. GSI tours is good, but the hotel markets this company.

Here are the positives:
- Close to the airport
- Very nice beach area
- Pool is well designed with plenty of sun or shade
- Beds are comfortable
- Close to the Ritz Carlton Casino (VERY nice!)

Drawbacks:
- Airport noise detracts from the "island" experience
- Concierage staff is not very helpful and have a "why are you bothering me" attitude
- Lobby area is dated and needs a "refresh". Last update was in 2007.
- Not a convenient location - every destination is a cab ride away
- Don't walk the beach at night

We enjoyed are stay but would definitely opt for a different location on our next trip.

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms are nicer than "partial ocean view" rooms. When you make your reservation, make sure the reservation agent adds ALL of your requests in the record. Things like - prefer king or double queen beds; feather free room if you have allergies; nothing close to the elevator...
