If you are looking to go to a place in Greece then go to this hotel as it is great for couples as it is calm and quiet and not many children but however is great for family's as there are many facilities for children.

The hotel room: The room was the exact same to the photo on Thomson's website. The room was lovely, very clean and modern. Many hotels only have showers and I loved how this one had a bath but you could still shower as well and it was very easy to change temperature. The had as much storage for clothes to fit my wardrobe at home in and even more so no matter how much you're planning on packing you can store in the room. The bed in the room was comfortable however my family said it wasn't so some will love it and some won't. The room had a dressing table so great for girls who love to get ready with a big mirror. In the dressers draw was a hair dryer but it was tiny and awful and did not dry my hair so recommend brining your own. We didn't pay for a sea view balcony and was very pleased we didn't as from our room we could see the sea and mountains with many houses on which looked so pretty at night as they lit up. If your planning on booking then get the swim up rooms as you can sun bath and go in the pool as soon as you get too hot and also the pool is more private.

The food: At breakfast every day there was plenty of fry up food which was delicious and warm. There was also pancakes and waffles and plenty of fruit except strawberries and raspberries as in Greece there seemed to not have any berries. There was also different options of cereal and somedays there was French toast. At lunch time the food was absolutely delicious, there was always chips and different types of Pizza but always a margarita one. There was a huge variety of salad and fruit. There was always different options of meat and many sides such as rice. There was icecream which you could help yourself to at anytime and you could serve yourself. The icecream flavours were vanilla, chocolate, mint, strawberry and banana. Also they had desserts such as profiteroles and cheesecake. At dinner time they always had pasta, spaghetti, chips and different types of meat. There was a theme every night such as Mexican, Italian and Greek. There was similar food to lunch as there was plenty of fruit, vegetables, icecream and deserts. If you have children they will love the food as there is a child section for food which many adults loved also. Breakfast and dinner was in the same room with a balcony which you could see the sea and sunset which was beautiful. Lunch was outside with a shelter incase of bad weather but you could see the sea also.

Drinks: It is definitely worth going all inclusive as you can help yourself to as much drink as you want. At the beach bar they served coffee, tea, cappuccino, cocktails, fizzy drinks, kids cocktails, fruit juice, squash etc. Also at dinner and breakfast you could order the same drinks.

Staff: The staff were so friendly and were always wanting to help you if needed. The hotel was a very calm place so it was nice not hearing loud music and staff playing loud games like you get at some hotels. The staff held exercise classes but didn't pressure you to go which also you get at some hotels.

The beach: The beach was a sandy beach which was lovely as I found a lot of beaches in Greece are pebbly. The beach is a 1 minute walk from your hotel room which was lovely. There is no need to wake up early and put beach towels down as staff make sure that everyone has a bed if you can't find one. The beach bar was directly on the beach so you could get your drinks fast. There was also showers and shower for your feet which was lovely when you are covered in sand from the beach.

Facilities: There was a gym which was lovely as you could run on the running machine and look out to the pool. There wasn't free wifi which was disappointing and it cost €50 for a week for one person which is very expensive. There was computers you could use which was €1 for 15mins and it froze quite a while. There was also a place for parents to let their children play and do fun activities with staff and other children throughout the morning and afternoon.

Corfu town: There is a bus that runs you into town and you need to book in reception but there is always plenty of room. The town was amazing as I love makeup and there was a sephora, body shop and the Hondos centre which sold mac at 23% off!! There was also many stools but have a look around and then purchase as it got cheaper the more you walk. It is about a 20 minute drive to town and when they drop you it is a 2 minute walk and you will start to see the shops if you walk straight on. If you walk down uh the river it is much longer and hotter.

The weather: When I got there it was night time and was average not hot but not cold. It was lovely as in the early morning and late night it is very cool so you can go to sleep without feeling hot and sticky. By 10am it will be 30 degrees and lovely and starts cooling down at 6:30pm. I found sleeping at night with the air con was too cold which is unusual for a hot country but it was lovely as was easy to sleep.

I highly recommend going to this hotel as it is amazing and has been the best holiday I have been to so far!!!

We have just returned from a family holiday at the Louis Grand Hotel on Friday 18th July 2014. It was all we expected and more. The staff, the food and the rooms were outstanding. The only negative was that people were allowed to smoke in the terrace, of the piano bar. You could smell the smoke in that area - perhaps a designated area could be possible. We also found that the music could have been a bit louder at the beach bar.
Nevertheless, thanks again to everyone at the hotel especially when I had a birthday cake from the staff at the Asian restaurant last Thursday. It was a nice touch and was very surprising. They made my birthday special.
Overall, a fantastic holiday and I'm sure we will return. The James family-Tenby.

We stayed at this hotel from the 20th - 27th June after a weeks cruising on the Thomson Majesty ship. Were part of a group of six. After having such a fabulous cruise with very high standards we hoped Louie Grand would not disappoint. It did not.

We had a lovely holiday at this hotel. ALL staff were all very friendly and helpful at all times. Hotel was very clean in all areas and very spacious sitting areas. Food was excellent. On a negative point safe deposit not cheap at 3.5 euro per day which over a period of a week of 2 weeks is quite considerable. I know some people would not use the safe tor this reason. (cheaper on cruise ship)

As we had such a good time at this hotel I have booked for my husband and myself to return for a two week holiday on the 5th June next year.

Look forward to returning to such a friendly hotel

As corfu is one of our preferred Greek destinations and as we have been told previously glyfada beach is one of the best beaches we booked the lti Louis grand for 2 weeks.
When we arrived to check in we were a bit worried by the small and dated reception and after registering and heading to our room we were trapped in the lift when it stopped!!!.
However the room we were in with a partial sea view was very comfortable and modern and we were at the end of the corridor which was very quiet.the food on the all inclusive was good if unspectacular and the Asian restaurant mura was very good . The animation team were very good with Layla and her colleagues very busy. The tables on the balcony at the bar on the 2nd floor get busy very quickly but they are great to chill and listen to the sea or have a catch up with friends.the only issue when at the sun loungers or outside bar tables is a regular shaft of sewage or waste that can be quite stomach churning at times.
All in all a good hotel with friendly staff and well worth a visit

Room Tip: Eat in mura Asian restaurant as often as you can book it.

We have just arrived back after spending a fabulous time at this hotel, the hotel itself is stunning with amazing views of the mountains and ocean, were do I start :
1, staff; possibly the most welcoming and warm people you will meet, that goes from the management who take time out to speak to you throughout the day, then every evening greet you into dinner, reception waiters and cleaning staff all do an amazing job in making sure your stay is perfect. Then the entertainment team who work very hard to entertain you throughout the day and nights.
2,Food, a very wide and varied range all cooked to perfection, there is enough variety to suit even picky eaters.
3, swim up rooms, well worth the extra money very clean and warm
4, cleanliness of hotel. The cleaners work endlessly to make sure hotel and rooms are spotless
5, kids club and entertainment team, the team will entertain your children most of the day and night, then on an evening take the kids all together to dinner which was lovely as it gave me and my husband time to eat together, the entertainment team were totally brilliant and I would recommend you take time out to enjoy the shows and activities that they work endlessly to put on for you.
Overall I cannot shout loud enough as to what an amazing hotel this is and will definitely be visiting again next year to regain my miss hotel title, my only complaint was not regarding the hotel but the guests that vist family hotels with no family then complain when kids splash them in the pool:
Many thanks to the staff for making our holiday perfect see you next year !!!

Room Tip: All rooms have amazing views, we had swim up and it was well worth the extra money

There are a lot of good things that have been repeatedly mentioned about this hotel so rather than say it all again, I thought I'd say where this hotel really disappoints.
ROOMS - nicely refurbished bedrooms but totally out dated bathrooms. Normally I wouldn't complain because as long as its usable then it's ok, but the fittings were so old that neither bath nor basin plug worked making washing through swim things a fete in cleaning without wasting gallons of water. Very great fear of losing a contact lens down an unsealed basin plug hole too. Towels were thin, often had holes in and on several occasions smelled of a strange biscuity like chemical. Loo paper also thin and cheap - though maybe that is in case too many people flush it, so avoiding blockages. Toiletries were 2 basic soap dispensers on the wall like you find in public toilets or cheap UK chain hotels. None of the usual complimentary perks like cotton buds, sewing kit, shower cap etc. Complimetary slippers were a weird cheap paper like creation.
FOOD - We've had worse but we've had so much better. It was never hot. I know buffet style never is, but the food here was generally tepid rather than warm. Lunch often seemed a better mix of dishes than dinner. Very cheap components too, for example the 'bacon' was some weird reconstituted meat and on one evening the turkey dish was actually turkey roll. For some unkown reason all the fruit is chopped into pieces while still retaining their peel - nothing more unappatising than a banana chopped in half with brown ends. On the plus side, as a vegetarian it was nice to see the dishes labelled if suitable and for once, there was a few dishes to choose from. The Asian restaurant was nothing to excite and was buffet style rather than a la carte service.
WRISTBANDS - we have stayed in more than a dozen AI hotels and on only 3 occasions did we have to wear wristbands. I understand that its to prevent people coming from the nearby beach and getting freebies, but other hotels have been similarly located and addressed the problem much better without tagging their guests like cattle. I find that's its generally the cheaper quality hotels that use this easier for them option, rather than think of a better solution.
SEAVIEW ROOMS - much has been said about it being worth paying extra but I don't see why. Every facility in the hotel faces the sea so you view it all day. We had a room at the front which was shadier and cooler after a long day in the hot sun. The hotel suffered from a terrible smell of sewage on an almost daily basis and this seemed worse nearest the swim up rooms - why pay extra to be choked on such a foul smell.
SUNBEDS - yes there are plenty, though more limited on big changeover days like Friday and Saturday. However, the longer we were on holiday, the more people were getting up early to go and put a towel (or 6) on 'their' spot - embarrassingly, they were mainly British. Being in a room near the lifts meant we could hear them from 6.30am - though most only re-appeared mid morning. Sunbeds on the grassy areas also needed more umbrellas, not enough trees to go round! Incidentally, there are only 2 main lifts which only allow 4 at any one time (its says 5 on the lift but an alarm sounds if more than 4 get in). These are old and quite slow so be prepared for a lot of exercise up the winding stairs.
This is quite an old hotel - look in the back corridors and you'll see a building from another era. It obviously is trying to update but, compared to a lot of the other places we have stayed, is doing it on a budget. We don't wish to put you off if you are soon due on holiday here, but what we would say is this hotel is perfectly acceptable but definitely not Premier/Platinum standard.

Room Tip: Ignore the seaview clamour, the front of hotel rooms are much cooler with a fabulous mountain view.

We have just returned from the Louis Grand, Glyfada, which we stayed from 7th to 14th July. We found the rooms were very clean and spacious with very comfortable beds. The food selection was great and enjoyed all meals at the hotel. The staff in all departments were very polite and always prepared to help in any way they could. We really enjoyed our stay, especially around the pool and the beach during the day. We would also like to say a special thank you to the reception staff for all your help in making our stay as comfortable as possible. Looking forward to coming back soon. Thanks again, the Bayliss family, 309 & 310.
