“A Room with a View”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 February 2013

The Town End Farm Shop & Tearoom is an ideal place to break your walk, drive or cycle through the spectacular Limestone Karst geology of this part of the Yorkshire Dales.

Once you fight your way past the tempting local produce and local crafts of the well-stocked farm shop, you emerge into a spacious, clean cafe with ample seating and, if your lucky, a niche in the far corner with a) comfortable sofa seating and b) a spectacular and far reaching view down the valley towards the famous Malham Cove itself.

The menu gave everyone a selection headache, the quality of the food was very good AND reasonably priced to boot. Even at busy times, the staff maintained an air of Yorkshire calm and genuine friendliness. The fresh coffee is highly recommended as are the cakes and the local cheese and .....

If you ever find yourself a 30 minute drive or a 20 minute cycle or a 10 minute walk from Airton, do yourself a big favour and pop into this gem of a Yorkshire farm-shop & tearoom.

“Excellent couldn't find better”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2012

Popped lin by chance looking for some local produce to take home, got hungry and went in tea shop. The tea shop itself is lovely and all the staff work like Trojans. The were un-phased by my husbands guide dog and fetched a huge bowl of water for him! The food was excellent and the pork pie incredible! We bought local cheeses and meat which was lovely. Definitely will return again and well worth a visit.

“Traditional Farm Cafe with Super Tasty Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 February 2012

Town End Farm Shop and afe is situated in the village of Airton on the road up to Malham. The shop sells a wide range of locally produced meat, preserves, vegetables, fruit etc.

The cafe, situated alongside the shop, has views towards Malham. There is also outside seating too. The food served is (in the main) selected from the food goods in the farm shop, and as such is locally sourced. The meals are prepared and cooked to order, and much of the food is "home made" There are some delicious soups served, accomoanied by a generous helping of good quality bread and butter, which are a meal in themsleves. They are not the usual watery, chemically flavoured mush, but good wholesome and tasty.

The meat platters contain locally sourced and cured ham as well as the usual plougmans mix of chutney, apple, cheese, salad, coleslaw etc, served with good farmhouse bread and butter. The quiche dishes are localy made and are again served with the usual plougmans mix of chutney, apple, cheese, salad, coleslaw etc, served with good farmhouse bread and butter.

Also available are delicious yorkshire puddings filled with meat and gravy.

Delicious looking sweets.pastries etc. are also available. (In truth I cannot comment on these as we are always more than amply satisfied with the main course we have eaten, and have never got round to sampling these delights!)
