A huge parkland on the outskirts of the city with walking paths through the grasslands, or venture around the lake to be a little more adventurous. Share the lakeside walk with swamp-hens and count sacred ibis and pelicans. Early mornings are the best time to share the paths with dogs on leashes, bicyclists (listen out for their bells) and a variety of local people out for a brisk walk to start their day. Beautiful in all weathers.

I enjoy everything about Jells Park. I have been here for all types of events .
It's a wonderful spot to bring your family, dogs & bikes . Lots of tracks to ride on , and plenty of BBQ's , only you do need to be early in Summer to grab one , as it does get rather busy .

Have been going to Jells Park since I was a kid. It is absolutely massive, the autumn trees are gorgeous. There is a small Farmers Market there on the 3rd Saturday of the month. Great for riding bikes, loads of equipment for the kids, and great for relaxing or going for a walk. You will love it.

Jells Park just off Ferntree Gully Road in Wheelers Hill, is a very popular meeting spot that serves a variety of purposes for the various groups who meet there. As a State park entrance is free and the park is well provided with plenty of parking (at various locations), shelters, toilets and BBQs. The main attractions for most visitors are the lake circuit taking in the scenic beauty of the lake and its surrounds, and the numerous walking/bike trails. The trails branch out in a number of directions and link up with other trails that can eventually take you all the way to the city. The park is a favourite with mums' groups taking their bubs for a stroll in prams; walking and cycling groups and those just looking for a pleasant picnic spot. For those looking for a hot coffee and morning tea, this can be purchased at the cafe at the top of the hill as a walk up, or for more refined dining, Madeline's restaurant provides indoor facilities.
