A blissful 3 days and 2 nights were spent at the Whispering Willows Bed and Breakfast. We could not have asked for better hospitality, location and breakfast. Anita and Jean Wong were incredibly welcoming, even prior to arriving at this home away from home. They were greatly accommodating from directing us accordingly from the Greyhound station, to making sure that we were never overcharged by cab rides. The Willow room was an en suite felt like home, but in Ottawa of course. It was exceedingly clean, comfy, and spacious. In addition we had WiFi, a downstairs entertainment room, and a well stocked fridge at our fingertips. The B&B is located in a safe and quiet neighborhood, close walking distance to a plaza with Sobeys, restaurants, and a friendly pub with live entertainment (*note: remember to take the short scenic pathway when walking to the local plaza) and was one exit from the Canadian Tire centre, making it really convenient to see Bruno Mars during our stay. This review would be incomplete if we didn’t mention the absolute mouth watering feast served every morning. From eggs, pancakes, homemade baked goods, bacon and sausages, Anita and Jean can make it all. They also provided fresh fruit, homemade yogurts, granola and jam’s to choose from. Needless to say we took long, enjoyable naps afterwards. To summarize, there is a vast difference between a house and a home. Whispering willows is a home by all accounts, and these amazing hosts helped make our romantic getaway more memorable then we could have ever expected.
