Whispering Willows Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #1 of 1 Stittsville B&B and Inns
Reviewed 28 July 2014

A blissful 3 days and 2 nights were spent at the Whispering Willows Bed and Breakfast. We could not have asked for better hospitality, location and breakfast. Anita and Jean Wong were incredibly welcoming, even prior to arriving at this home away from home. They were greatly accommodating from directing us accordingly from the Greyhound station, to making sure that we were never overcharged by cab rides. The Willow room was an en suite felt like home, but in Ottawa of course. It was exceedingly clean, comfy, and spacious. In addition we had WiFi, a downstairs entertainment room, and a well stocked fridge at our fingertips. The B&B is located in a safe and quiet neighborhood, close walking distance to a plaza with Sobeys, restaurants, and a friendly pub with live entertainment (*note: remember to take the short scenic pathway when walking to the local plaza) and was one exit from the Canadian Tire centre, making it really convenient to see Bruno Mars during our stay. This review would be incomplete if we didn’t mention the absolute mouth watering feast served every morning. From eggs, pancakes, homemade baked goods, bacon and sausages, Anita and Jean can make it all. They also provided fresh fruit, homemade yogurts, granola and jam’s to choose from. Needless to say we took long, enjoyable naps afterwards. To summarize, there is a vast difference between a house and a home. Whispering willows is a home by all accounts, and these amazing hosts helped make our romantic getaway more memorable then we could have ever expected.

Room Tip: Couples should definitely stay in the Willows Room.

Our extended family of 7 reserved for an Ottawa wedding. The location is excellent - moments to the Queensway, quick exit toward the 401 the next morning, and I also noticed that the "Canadian Tire Centre" is nearby if you are in town for a hockey game or concert. Despite the convenient highway connections less than a kilometre away, there was absolutely no road noise in the quiet subdivision, and the house backs on to a forest.
The hosts could not have been more accommodating, and the breakfast was a memorable feast! The bedrooms were very comfortable. Note that just one is ensuite, and three others share a bathroom - fine for our family situation. (A washroom on the main floor was also available.)
The dining area and family room on the main floor are reserved for the guests, so you could bring in your own dinner, relax with TV, etc.
Highly recommended!

On a street of large modern homes in a prosperous neighbourhood in Stittsville, (Just before you get to Ottawa from Toronto), the white picket fence helps you pick out as nice a B&B as you will find, owned by Mr and Mrs Jean Wong.
We entered into the aroma of baking in progress, Anita Wong is a great baker, cook, and quilter from Thunder Bay region. She showed us first to the spacious 12 ft by 24ft (guess) guest lounge and TV room, with the dining room at the rear, fruits, drinks, and fridge at hand, then up a long flight of stairs (ten ft ceilings will do that) to our queensized bed and bedroom with ensuite bathroom with double bathtub and separate shower. Similar spaciousness and cleanliness were noticeable. Breakfast was almost an embarrassment of riches, we were served enough for four, and it was all good and fresh and beautifully presented.I have no hesitation in recommending Whispering Willows B&B on the edge of Stittsville, 30 minutes from Ottawa Downtown.& Close to Hazledean Rd.

Room Tip: Park on the left of the driveway.Beside the room described there seems to be three other lovely larg...
