“Magical world”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 November 2013 via mobile

Our visit to Harry Potter was well worth every penny, upon arriving at Watford Junction catching the clearly marked bus. We were rather early so did some exploring of the shop, although over priced as most souvenir shops, you could literally buy anything & everything Harry Potter related.

Importantly the tour, incredible, from under the stairs, the array of worldwide posters and introduction to the cinema ( wish all cinema seats were that comfortable )

The slogan of revealing secrets is even more untold after the fantastic introduction into movie making. Everything, everyone involved, the process of how, why, when will leave you in awe. Touches to keep kids amused whilst you peruse this well laid out history of what quite honestly is crafted art.

Intricate plans, drawings, art, history & fun are all included with a Butter Beer costing £2.99 a cup is well worth the try. Sickly but much like a toffee drink. The immense scale involved in production really shines through and the final few pieces really set you back.

You will respect the cinema, the moving arts and never complain about cinema pricing again. You will want to ensure magic like this continues. Whether just a movie goer or a true Potter fan, this studio tour has something for everyone.

BONUS on our visit, we got to see Hogwarts in the snow.

“Magical!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 November 2013

What a great day out. We were visiting to celebrate my daughters birthday and travelled up the day before as we had 10am entrance tickets. In my opinion the morning sessions are the best. Although the recommended time in the studios is around 3 hours there is no time limit on your visit so you could comfortably stay all day if you chose to. We felt that around 4 hrs would give you the opportunity to have a good look around at all the exhibits.
We visited the first weekend of the winter season and The Great Hall was decorated with Christmas trees and the tables with Christmas fare such as Turkey with all the trimmings, plum puddings and all manner of festive food. The self guided tour was excellent and culminated with the Hogwarts model being decorated with snow, the temperature in the room being chilled and a truly festive feel.
It was well worth the 180 mile each way journey and a trip I recommend to all Harry Potter fans. You really get the feel of the effort, skill and love that the makers have put into the Harry Potter studios experience

“Interesting even if your not a Harry Potter fan !”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 November 2013

Good visit, don't let the Harry Potter title put you off, if one member of the party is a fan then go along, very informative on how the sets, special effects and costumes etc are put together.
We went when the 'Christmas Special' thingy was on, yes Ok a bit of snow sprinkled about the place and Christmas food in the Great Hall but, no real changes I would think from 'normal'
The Butter Beer was great !

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments following your visit. We are pleased to hear that you and your family had such a wonderful time visiting the attraction and that you were impressed with the information on sets, special effects and costumes.

For our Hogwarts in the Snow feature, we introduced some festive additions into the attraction that are in-keeping with the Harry Potter film series. All of the authentic Christmas decorations that you saw were used during the original filmmaking process.

We do hope that you were able to see the Christmas trees in the Great Hall, the additional decorations and props in the Gryffindor common room and the Weasley kitchen, as well as the footprints in the snow in Diagon Alley.

We are sorry to hear that you felt there could have been more additions in some areas of the Studio Tour to give it a more festive feel. We have tried to ensure that all additions remain as authentic to the Harry Potter film series as possible.

Thank you again for leaving your comments. Feedback such as yours allows us the opportunity to review our operation and make changes to enhance the overall experience for our visitors.

“Clever use of a studio”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 November 2013 via mobile

Ingenious use of a studio that would have otherwise probably either shut down or go on to make less successful films. The volunteers are very Orlando and everything is extremely polished. A new level of professionalism in entertainment for the UK in my opinion, comparing the train wrecks that are UK theme parks with the finely rehearsed ones abroad.

The only minor deviation was one of the guides in the broom riding experience who was obviously very bored having to give the same direction to people over and over again. I suppose there is only so many times you can say "wave to the muggles" and not have an existential crisis.

“An experience for all!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 November 2013

Bought as a present for my partner, an avid HP Fan - she loved it...me not such a fan but I enjoyed it just as much. Really interesting and so much to soak up. It has made me what to watch all the films
A TIP - select if you can an early morning slot..we went in at 1030 - nice relaxed breakfast, reasonable priced, and no crowds. Came out around 1245 and everywhere
was packed! Gift shop a bit expensive if buying for several people, but lots of choice.
Well worth a visit.
