Description: The Red Lion is nestled in the peaceful, idyllic village of East Haddon, surrounded by picturesque Northamptonshire countryside, just a few miles from Northampton. We are handily placed with ready access and egress from the major Motorway routes M1, M6, A14 & A1 being all within easy reach. Our warm and cosy pub boasts an intimate lounge area, large dining room & manicured gardens making it a great place either as a hideaway from the cold winter’s weather or somewhere to quietly luxuriate in the warm glow of a Summer's day.

We've been searching for a good restaurant anywhere near Northampton for many, many years. Despite the prosperity of the area it is amazing that there are so few decent eateries. Last night we enjoyed one of the best meals out for a very, very long time at The Red Lion in East Haddon. Well done everyone, we had a lovely evening. Thank you!
The ambience is the best of what one hopes for in an "olde country pub".It's charming, relaxed and the service team are young, friendly, efficient and English (is one allowed to say that in 2012?) The menu is fun with some interesting combinations but the real joy is the food itself which was quite superb in every department. Presentation is fit to photograph (and some of the guests did just that), meals presented at the right temperature and really tasty too. Puddings to die for. Go there soon, you won't be disappointed!

When we go to vist my aunt who lives in East Haddon we usually have a meal in the Red Lion, We have found the service to be good and the food excellent. We live in Norwich and we wish that the restaurants in Norwich were up to this standard. The majority of Norfolk restaurants have the attitude that they are doing you a favour by letting you eat on their premises.

Cannot fault the food, every dish we hadwas wonderful, the staff very professional, knowledgeable, attentive and very pleasant, management should be proud. The ladies toilets need a very urgent refurb - no loo roll holders, no loo roll in one loo, one door did not close, water leaking from one loo, I feel that paying the prices that the Red Lion charge and deserve for food and staff are seriously let down by the condition of the ladies toilets, I did not check out the Gents! But would love to go back-thanks to the lovely staff.

We went here for my husbands birthday last week, and had a superb lunch!

The pub is set in a lovely area, and is pleasant with a relaxed atmosphere inside. The waiting staff were attentive and efficient, and the food was absolutely delicious and artistic without being overly pretentious. The menu is imaginative, and reasonably priced for such fine food. We were actually astounded that we only live 30 minutes away and have never been here before!

We left the restaurant as two very satisfied people with rather tight waistbands.....but with a firm desire to return!
