One of the most delightful B+B's we have ever stayed in. Very helpful and considerate hosts, which we very much enjoyed. Even a small birthday cake to celebrate the round 7! Beautiful views in a lovely setting but nevertheless quiet. Thoroughly recommended.

Room Tip: Only two rooms but both more than adequate with coffee/tea making facilities. Super

Generous hospitality, helpful and easy to follow travel directions, sightseeing advice and great breakfasts (make sure you sample Colleen's Scottish breakfast !!!) ensured that our week stay at Beechdene was comfortable, relaxed, peaceful and memorable for all the right reasons. Colleen and Chris were perfect hosts, so we felt like family. Nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in the roomy and well appointed double room (with the adjacent spacious private bathroom) and appreciated the marvellous views over the village and across to the surrounding countryside from the bedroom windows. The location was ideal as the base for our day trips into the Cotswolds, surrounding counties and Wales, We recommend the beautiful Beechdene B & B for any length of stay.

We have just returned from an overnight stay at this beautiful B an B...and I must say it is one of the best I have stayed in. After a warm welcome from Colleen we were shown to the twin bedded room - well, more like a mini suite with not just the usual bedroom furniture, but a sofa, coffee table and table and chairs as well. The room and the ensuite bathroom were spotless and well equipped with everything from toiletries, coffee/tea making facilities, biscuits...and even sweets! The purpose of our visit was to attend a family birthday party, and Colleen provided very clear instructions on how to get to the venue - unfortunately my other half got the WRONG venue! However we soon sorted it out and a great time was had by all.
The following morning we had a beautifully cooked English breakfast, but could easily have chosen to have either the continental or Scottish breakfast had we so desired - all with juice, cereal and toast in apparently unlimited quantities. I would certainly recommend this B and B to anyone wishing to stay in the area, but with only 3 rooms , book up early! One tip - we were politely asked not to wear our outdoor shoes in the house (not an unreasonable request as it is Colleen and Chris's home as well and has been beautifully decorated and furnished...so bring your slippers and have them handy at the front door!

My husband and I have just returned from an amazing weekend in the Cotswolds and this beautiful B & B made it. Colleen and Chris made us feel very welcome. The B & B is absolutely beautiful we stayed in the twin room which was extremely large and very comfortable. The whole house is beautifully decorated. It is in a gorgeous location sitting just above Box Village which is very quaint with no shops. My husband and I like to walk through the village for an evening walk. It is conveniently located to Nailsworth and only a short drive to Stroud. I would really recommend this B & B if your planning a visit to the Cotswolds- we will definitely be staying here again! Make sure you have Colleen's pankcakes they are delicious!

Colleen and Chris have ensured my week in this B&B has been a restorative and pleasurable time with all the comforts of home. The village itself is resplendent in its pulchritudinous floral displays (it's June-July) and has recently held a Open Garden display with the local band, cream teas and the floral abundance which has been my view of Box. The view from my bedroom window is one encompassing the whole village; grey roof-tops and dark cream stone houses all dressed for summer in roses with the golden church tower pointing to the sky. There are no shops in town. No pub either. However, the bus calls in and takes you to Nailsworth or Minchinhampton, or you can walk for 20 minutes and reach there yourself during the day. Colleen can also provide an evening meal (for a price) and there is The Old Lodge over the Common which is walkable in good weather, as long as you don't mind the wandering cows. WiFi is available in your room or you can sit downstairs in the guest lounge. Tea/coffee, TV, warm and cosy bedrooms. I had the smaller one of the two and it was more than ample. I was even collected from the Stroud railway station by the owner. I thoroughly recommend this establishment for your holiday or just an overnight stay.

Room Tip: My room was the smaller one - if you are travelling with children, there's plenty of room in the...

Beechdene is definitely one of the best in the area, Beautifully situated, although a little difficult to find in the dark, superbly furnished, bedroom tastefully furnished and guest lounge large and comfortable. We had the twin room which was very large, well furnished, well equipped and very comfortable. Views from the property are stunning looking teh village and further Cotswold countryside, an ideal location as a centre for touring the surrounding area. Breakfasts are large, very well cooked and presented, nothing is too much trouble. Evening meals are provided, if booked in advance, and are equally superb. Could not fault this superb B & B.

Room Tip: Twin room is very large & tastefully furnished.

Superb location on the edge of Box village. Beautifully furnished and very clean rooms; one double with private bathroom across the landing (fluffy bathrobes provided!) and one large twin with en-suite facilities. Twin room had lovely sitting area so is ideal to congregate in of an evening if taking both rooms. Hosts were wonderful and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. Attentive but not intrusive - they've got it just right! It was the "little extras" that were appreciated - a flask of fresh milk for our morning tea, offering to chill our drinks, letting us use their freezer to store our Gloucester Old Spot Pork from the fantastic butcher in Nailsworth! Usual tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryer & even an ipod/ iphone charger - just as well as we'd forgotten ours. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice.
All-in-all a fantastic place to stay and excellent value for money - highly recommended.

Room Tip: Only two rooms but the twin is larger and has en-suite bathroom.
