Excellent restaurant with charming staff in a great setting on the beach. Much pricier than local fare, but good for a splurge. Also home to a good little Italian delicatessen and a dive shop (not working at time of visit).

If you want to enjoy some peace days away from every kind of society, this is the place. Of all Grenadines Islands, I found Canouan the one most explored, which makes this a paradise. You can relax in the beach the whole day and see nothing but blue sea. The infrastructure of the hotel is very good, offering good quality food on the restaurant or the bar (the beer is quite expensive though here), the rooms are comfortable, new and beautiful.

While moored of of the Tamarind Beach Hotel we had lunch at the main restraunt. The food was excellent, and the service off the scale for the Caribbean. In four months in Grenada, which we loved, we never had service that even came close. The view is spectacular and did I mention the service was immaculate. They also have a small, but spectacular delli with Italian meats that you wold be hard pressed to find anywhere in the Carribean.

Ignore Unhappy- they love yachties, and have the only dinghy dock on the island. Who is surprised that a small kitchen took some time to make 10 pizzas? Who expects a discount for take out pizza? In most of the Caribbean, they include a service charge (usually 10%, and always listed on the menus) in lieu of tips, so I would not expect to get out of it. Grow up.

I just spent 2 night at the Tamarind Beach Hotel. It was lovely. The rooms are reasonable size and comfortable. The restaurants were excellent and the staff was most helpful. That's it in a nutshell. It is right on the beach so if you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs since the surf doesn't rest at night. If you are a golfer, bring your clubs. There is a beautiful course 5 minutes away and they will pick you up.

We stayed at Tamarind Beach for a week in early December. The hotel was fine, we got a complimentary upgrade to a suite, the food was good and the service impeccable. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who worked tirelessly to ensure that we and the other guests had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. Canouan is a proper island, not merely a resort and it was a pleasure to see the way of life in a remote part of the world. Would visit again without a shadow of a doubt.

We had a great stay early December, the beach is fabulous, the water so clear, the view is great...Peter makes these great cocktails on the beach and is so kind and nice! I recommend the Coco locco! :) It was the most relaxing experience! We had privacy, the hotel was not too crowded and the service was very good.
