“Stay in Aranya Safari Resort”
Reviewed 9 January 2013

We made a booking just a few days prior to our departure. We were a Party of 9 adults and one child. Finding the Resort was quite easy as it was on the main road with a prominent sign board. We got a warm welcome and no time was wasted in getting the four rooms that we had booked.
The weather was quite cold as we went in the beginning of January. Each room had heating/air-conditioning and there was a temperature control that we could set. The thing worked very well and we were quite comfortable. The rooms also had balconies over looking a garden.
The Staff were very helpful and served with a smile always. The meals served in their Restaurant were excellent. They were also open to suggestions and made required changes to suit our specific needs as well.
The transport used for the Safari were open jeeps and their quality was not very good. As we had booked late, we got entry through a Jim Corbett Park Gate which was quite far off. Travelers are advised to book early so that the nearest Gate which is about 9 miles away can be used. This is very important during winters. It can get very very cold in the open jeep.
But for the quality of the Safari Jeeps, everything else was good. The drivers were quite good and helpful too. The entire team headed by Mr. CHANDER SATE was excellent. Cost wise we found the stay to be inexpensive also. I recommend this place to all.

Room Tip: First Floor Rooms have a nice view. The Restaurant is also on the first floor.

We loved everything about this resort, apart from the food. The rooms are nice and spacious and are in fact better than how they appear in the pictures. Since we went during the coldest days of the season, we really appreciated the centralized heating through the AC rather than standalone heaters. The bathrooms are modern with HOT water and one could enjoy a hot bath under the rain shower after coming from a tiring safari. The service was good, though we got a better room and a cot (instead of floor mattress) for extra adult only when we pushed them for it. The lawns are neatly manicured and one can really enjoy basking in the winter sun. Club Mahindra next door has a nice spa, which offers 25% discount to the guests from Aranya Safari Resort.

However food was a major letdown. We are fine with the simplicity of the spread as this was not our 'foodie holiday' but many of the items were of a standard that you would expect from a government run hotel in terms of the taste. (I still wonder how can one get a basic item like Dal wrong). To their credit, they try to make up through the service and if you ask them, will also let you swap one of your meals with their more upmarket hotel Corbett Hideaway (where the food was lovely).

So in a nutshell, negotiate a good rate for breakfast only deal through their Delhi office, go for paid meals at the club mahindra resort in the same campus and you will enjoy the rest of your holiday.

Room Tip: Go for the first floor room which have balconies instead of patios, since a) they offer more privacy...

Stayed for 3 days.
Resort is around 7-8 kilometers from Ramnagar, on the road towards corbett. Autos are available if you are arriving by train/ bus.

Check in was smooth, took less than 5 minutes. Rooms are fairly big and each ground floor room comes with own sitting area, which opens into a nice, big garden ( We spotted quite a few birds there ). Rooms are well furnished, with LCD TVs, Tea-coffee makers, and mini bar.

Food was good, nice spread for breakfast and dinner ( didnt try lunch, as we were out ).

Mr.Chander Sati, the manager, was really helpful in planning our corbett visits.

Overall, nice stay. Would suggest a walk to Girjyamata temple by the jungle trail.

Our Mumbai based group of 5 friends had visited Uttarakhand in December. We visited 3 of 'Leisure group' properties and our experience with everyone of them was excellent.
Aranya Safari resort is located around the scenic and beautiful Kosi river. The property shares all of the facilities with Club Mahindra, so the facilities were all top-notch.
The rooms were very modern, clean, spacious and neatly laid out. All rooms have heater facility. The bathrooms are also very Clean, modern with 24 hour running water. The staff was very friendly and we were given proper personal attention. The food, however was good and not great. On request, they arranged for us to have dinner at 'The Corbett Hideaway' and we were extremely happy with the buffet there.
All in all, Aranya turned out to be an EXCELLENT place to stay.
Highly recommended as a VFM option.

Room Tip: Upper level rooms have a good balcony view and the lower levels have a beautiful garden sitout. Toug...

We were 4 persons (two couples), we went for jeep and elephant safari. We stayed 2 nights and we adored our stay in Aranya resort. The food was included in our room price for 3 meals per day. The quality and the variety of the food was excellent. The staff was so helpful, gentle and ready to serve us. We had two rooms on the garden. We even had the luxury to have our meals served on the garden, in front of our room. The rooms were clean: no stains in the sheets, no dirty towels, comfortable bed, clean european bathroom, satellite tv. Overall stay was enjoyable and we highly recommend it to everybody!!
