The lodge has a stunning location - it has its own stretch of beautiful coastline plus acres of forest for wildlife. The facilities and food were just wonderful, and the variety of things to do could keep you busy for many days!

Our shuttle picked up us at the airstrip and brought us to the local market to purchase groceries. We booked a house at the lodge that had a kitchen so we saved money on the meal package. Our driver was very accommodating between the market and pulling over to allow us to photograph birds!

Once arriving at the lodge, we were told there had been storm the night before and damaged the house we booked. But surprise! We got a free upgrade to their nicest house!!! Best birthday present ever! We ended up staying at Casa Teca for 3 nights and was absolutely blown away. It had a private pool, gorgeous open kitchen overlooking the ocean, and amazing bathrooms and bedrooms. We could just sit on the porch and have toucans, macaws, coatis, you name it, just wander by. It's also the only place on the property you can see the sun set! Each night we would fall asleep and wake up to the waves crashing on the rocks below and the howler monkeys in the distance.

Due to Casa Teca being booked by other guests on our last night, after repairs, our final stay was in the Garden House. It was very nice but a bit underwhelming after staying at their premier location. If we had only stayed there, if would have been perfect, but we may have been a bit spoiled after the free upgrade! The howler monkeys were much closer since we were now deeper in the jungle and we also got to see a few more birds and other animals we didn't see at the previous house.

We splurged and ate dinner one night at the lodge for my birthday. The food was delicious and they even surprised me with a cake!

The hike to the waterfall on the Pacific Trail was very strenuous but well worth it to see the waterfall and hang out in tide pools. We did not partake in any of the paid hikes or activities but they seemed fun. We spent an afternoon at the gulf (using the transfer service from the resort) and it was nice though the water was not nice enough for swim.

We ended each night at the bar to chat with other guests about their day, have a few drinks, and enjoy the free appetizers.

Overall, I would for sure recommend this resort!! I would love to go back and Casa Teca is the most gorgeous house I will ever have the pleasure to stay in!

We had a beautiful 2 bed bungalow in the forest away from the main area as we had a car. It was so quiet except for frogs monkeys and birds and other creatures!! we had a lovely view of the sea and a small pool. There were lots of activities available and we went on a sunset walk with a very knowledgeable guide. We also did a early morning bird walk and our guide was so enthusiastic and found lots of birds for us all to see. The staff were all so helpful and friendly. I could have stayed there for ever!!

Room tip: If you don't have a car best to stay closer to the main building

Had a wonderful time here in a beautiful cabin overlooking the sea called gecko which was very nice but fell short on the storage area for clothes and the bathroom was a bit tired. Hot water was a bit hit and miss but it didn't matter too much as it was so hot. Wildlife was amazing and we saw a puma outside the cabin at 6am! They say you can leave your doors open at night but maybe best not!

Service was excellent and the food nice.

We have stayed at Bosque several times. There is a large system of trails so you can go on your own, or use a guide. Plenty of wildlife to be seen on the trails, sitting on your patio, or wandering the grounds. Basque added an adult swimming pool so, if you want quiet time at the pool, you can have it. The food is very good with enough variation to keep it interesting over a 3 to 4 night stay. Breakfast and lunch are ala carte. Dinner is usually buffet style and you can sit alone or join a larger table. Fly into Puerto Jimenez and Bosque picks you up at the air strip for ~1 hour ride. We prefer a deluxe cabin since they overlook the Pacific and are private without being isolated. Note: there is no air conditioning, but that has never been a problem for us. We will stay at Bosque again.

Room tip: Ask for any of the deluxe cabins.
