Very freindly and knowledgeable staff.
The guide around the great glow worm caves was incredible and ross knew so much about these ting creatures, very interesting.
Farm tour and the visit to the owl house was also amazing.

Good fun, helpful friendly staff and a beautiful safe place for youngsters to roam and explore. We also learned alot about the various santuary animals and of course owls.

From the time you arrive to a very welcoming greeting, to a great viewing of owls, a fantastic guided tour of the farm by a very knowledgeable and friendly guide to the most incredible glow worm caves.

“Wonderful experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 January 2013

We drove a long way from masterton to owlcatraz and got there for the last tour which they kindly added us in to even though it was full. We did the glow worm tour with the amazing Ross whose sense of humour and knowledge and enthusiasm for the glow worms became infectious. He put everyone at ease in the dark (where I must say he looked most handsome) and the glow worms were nothing short of magical. His animals are all well looked after as are his staff and Janette showed us round the owl enclosure which was gorgeous. We even got a free cup of coffee. Thank you so much - highly recommended

“SUPERB!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 December 2012

We almost didn't visit Owl Catraz as from the road it didn't look too promising...we couldn't of been further from the truth. Janette, Ross and Don are fabulous hosts and so informative about everything going on around the park. The owls are kept in a incredible home, designed to be as close to nature as possible, which made it even more special to see them. The animal tour with Don was fantastic, he really knows the animals well and they clearly dote on him. All of this was topped off by a visit to the glow-worm caves. Ross has spent a lot of time researching them, and it shows! An unforgettable experience, the caves are an amazing sight and well worth doing. If you've got a few hours to spare then make the effort to go to Owl Catraz, the kids are still talking about it days later, and our son can remember all the stuff about the glow-worms as Ross made it so interesting, thanks everyone for a really special afternoon.
