The Homestead Guesthouse
Reviewed 23 November 2013

This is the second time I've stayed at the Homestead house guesthouse in a year.
Ann and Graham are the most welcoming of hosts and as a previous review said they are minds of information on where to visit, eat, things that are on at that time of year etc.
Situated 10 minutes from the airport in a very quiet leafy suburb called pinelands you will need a car ideally when you stay here, there are local shops and the most incredible Italian restaurant within walking distance.
On both visits I've stayed in one of the garden flats, very spacious with own lounge and separate kitchen.
Ann adds lovely touches to the rooms like fresh flowers, biscuits, tea coffee etc and a well stocked mini bar for a small fee.
Ann had our laundry washed whilst we were there and it was returned the next day...perfect.
The breakfast is the perfect start to the day with an abundance of choices.
If you stay here and are considering the idea of a township tour please ask about this as Ann uses a chap who will take you on one of the most mind blowing experiences you will ever have...go with an open mind...return humbled from your time.
I've taken the same tour on both visits to Homestead...a wonderful time had on both.
We stayed a week at Homestead and visited so many places choosing to be lazy on the last day sunbathing by the pool, a perfect end to our stay.
Spoil yourself and stay at Homestead...you certainly won't regret it.
We look upon Ann and Graham as friends and can't wait to return once again.

We stayed here again in January 2012 and it is still as good as when we were here before in 2008. The flats and ensuite bedrooms have been upgraded since our last visit and everything had a really fresh look about it.

Ann makes you most welcome with lots of goodies in your flat and it is a very easy going place to stay. She gives you lots of information and tips about where to visit and will make arrangements for these if you wish. And she is a mine of information about restaurants and wineries.

We love staying here when we are in Cape Town as it is in leafy Pinelands a short taxi right into town but you feel like you are in the country. Another plus is an excellent little restaurant in the local shopping centre called Joe Fish

Room Tip: All rooms are good but the flats are great for an extended stay and you walk right out into the gard...

We stayed here for a week when we were in Cape Town. The accommodation is lovely. Its a small hotel with 2 garden flats, and penthouses and rooms and also with conference facilities. We stayed in one of the garden flats with our own small lounge area and kitchen which looked out over the pool. Breakfast is available or you can make your own in the well appointed kitchen.

Nothing is too much trouble for the owner and staff from doing your laundry to providing dinner on the brai in the evening. They make you feel really at home. The hotel is in Pinelands which is a garden suburb of Cape Town and very quiet in the evening. There are shops and a couple of restaurants nearby.

You do need a car if you stay here and want to go into the centre of town or explore the rest of the Cape.
