We arrived late (almost midnight) but our friendly host Guy did not mind meeting us at a nearby supermarket to show us the way to the house. It was the house where Guy's wife's parents used to live so it was well equipped and had a more homely feel to it than a purpose built apartment. There is a barbecue in the garden which we used once to grill rack of lamb. Otherwise we went out out for our meals. Only my wife and I stayed there but there are 2 bedrooms, each with a double bed and there is a sofa bed for 2 people in the sitting room. In addition Marie Jeanne and Guy (who live just 3 minutes walk away) can set up a child's bed to sleep a maximum of 7 people. There is one bathroom and a separate toilet.
There is no air conditioning but you can open windows and shutters on both sides of the house, although it is best to keep the shutters closed on the sunny side when the weather is hot. We had to visit in high season when the weather was at its hottest. I would recommend coming in June or September if possible.
Guy recommended a nearby beach which was not very crowded considering it was August and there are some lovely rock pools on the way up to Bavella to bathe in.
There are also some good restaurants in nearby Solenzara.
I forgot to ask if Guy or Marie Jeanne speak English as we have no trouble with French.
Ours was the first rental through TripAdvisor so that is why there are no other reviews.
