“Very comfortable nights sleep!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2014

We stayed here to explore Glasgow on our return back home from a holiday on the Highlands and the Western Isles of Scotland.

We booked in advance as this gives the best deals and got a great rate for the room.

The room was spacious, with plenty of furniture and a good sized dressing table. The bed was very comfortable and ginormous, with extra pillows available in the wardrobe.

There is a pub just at the bottom end of the car park which serves a wide range of good quality food and is where breakfast is served.

The location is perfectly situated for exploring either Glasgow city centre or Loch Lomond and the Trossachs.

The hotel has a quiet policy from 10pm in force around the floors where the bedrooms are, so we had an undisturbed sleep. The curtains are proper blackout curtains ensuring that no light comes through, another great idea to facilitate good quality sleep. The hotel really does try it's best to ensure a good nights sleep, something that they guarantee.

The only point, which in my opinion, could be looked at is the temperature in the bedroom, as it was rather hot. I understand that we stayed in August, but the fan which they provided was rather noisy and made hearing the TV difficult at times, (especially as the TV volume was limited). There is a thermostat in the room, which enables us to switch on the heat - great for winter. However there was no air-conditioning option that we could see.

We have stayed in Premier Inns before as we are very happy with the friendly consistent service that they offer and would certainly stay in the Glasgow (Bearsden) again.

Room Tip: All the rooms are pretty much the same specification and facilitate a comfortable nights sleep.

Dear filthurlow

Many thanks for taking the time to write a review on your experience at the hotel.

The team and I are pleased that you found the size of the rooms comfortable and that you took advantage of the super king size beds we have in our bedrooms! We are glad that you found out location to be advantageous for exploring the city centre and the beautiful scenery.
We appreciate your feedback on our “Quiet Time” policy and glad that you found it beneficial and that you managed to get a good nights sleep!

Unfortunately we do not have air conditioning in the hotel but hopefully in the future we may have!

Thanks again!

This was a typical Premier - comfy beds and pillows in a quiet location just outside Glasgow. The Braeburn pub in front provided a good meal and breakfast. Transport links into Glasgow were good - bus stop just outside provided a 25-30 min trip into the city centre or the train station about half a mile (4 bus stops) away only took 20 minutes in or out. The few staff we spoke to seemed polite and helpful - no one to help with bags if you needed it. A steep slope from the car park.

We had to pay triple the normal price as it was during the Commonwealth Games - annoying.

I chose this hotel as I like the chain and it was a bit cheaper than staying in the city centre. Easy walk from either Hillfoot or Milngavie train stations. Excellent pub to eat in next door. Usual quality breakfast - especially the porridge!

Excellent staff, lovely room, all very clean. Too hot in the room at night with no effective way to cool the room as no air-con. Even on the colder days the temperature in the room at night never dropped below 26C. If they get air-con, I would stay again.

Dear highlife

Thank you for taking the time to complete a review.

We are very pleased you found our rooms clean and the team pleasant. We understand the temperature of the rooms can get quite hot! We are able to provide sheets instead of duvets and also extra fans that would hopefully cool your room down.

You never know we may get air conditioning in the future.

Thanks again

This was the first time my wife and I had stayed at a Premier Inn ... and it turned out to be a very pleasant experience. We booked and paid months in advance and secured a very agreeable deal for our 3 night stay ... significantly cheaper that the prices being charged when we arrived. The hotel was spotlessly clean, staff welcoming, friendly and polite, rooms clean and comfortable and ... a 'please be quiet' program in place asking guests to adhere to their low noise policy .. which certainly worked. Lift access is available to all 3 floors. Rooms are made up daily and towels changed if guests leave them in the bath. If I was to be super critical, it would be that the room was too warm for comfort .... it was 21 degrees outside but 25 degrees in our bedroom ... with both windows open the full six inches or so the safety catches would allow. You can turn up the heat ... but no air-conditioning to lower room temperatures. A fan is provided but it didn't help much. There is an absolute abundance of parking available ... mostly behind the hotel, but some in front of the hotel facing the Burnbrae Inn (owned by Premier Inn and a mere 50 yards away). The Burnbrae provides excellent breakfasts for Premier Inn guests, also lunches and evening meals.
All tastes are catered for - including vegetarian and the choice on offer is vast ... as is the quantity each diner may eat .. there is no limit! You can choose between fruit, fruit juices, cereals, freshly cooked porridge, full English breakfast with options of fried, scrambled etc. eggs. I enjoyed a delicious breakfast of cereals & fruit juice followed by a full English breakfast consisting of (as many as I wanted of the following) ... fried egg, rashers of bacon, veg or meat sausage(s), baked beans, mushrooms, raw or fried tomatoes and hash browns ... then of course there's unlimited toast, unlimited coffee, honey, jam, etc. I'd never have believed it, but a Premier Inn breakfast really can set you up for the day ... after mine, I was way too full to have lunch, so simply waited until late evening and enjoyed a light meal then. Recommended!

Room Tip: Book early for great discounts.

Hotel is comfortable without pretending to be more than it is.
Room was comfortable, bed huge. Everything that you need for an overnight stay.
Shower was great, really powerful.
My room was at the back overlooking the car park. As we had the windows open due to the very nice weather, we were woken early by a van radio being played very loudly as the deliveries started at about 5am.
No free wifi which I find incredible in this day and age. (You do get 1/2 hour in the room)
The hotel is attached to the pub. Here you get breakfast.
You can also eat and drink here in the evening.
Food was ok, steady food, but not anything amazing.
We were not excited nor disappointed by the quality of the food. Service was great and all the staff are lovely.

Room Tip: Close the windows if you are at the back.
