I booked this hotel to use as our base for our trip to the Commonwealth Games. It was the only one I could get last October once I knew tickets were secured who weren't charging ludicrous prices.
We were there for one night, staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Room was a bit tired, a few bits of flaky paint and paper and shower could do with modernising as it kept running hot and cold whilst in it but overall it was fine.
Breakfast plentiful and I couldn't actually eat everything that I chose....but it all looked so good I wanted to try.
I can see why it would be a popular choice for weddings and we had a peek through the window at the function hall which was all set up and it looked stunning.
Good distance in terms of commuting to Glasgow City Centre, I used the car to get about but not sure how effective public transport is.

Booked the hotel in September 2013 for two weeks for our visit to Glasgow and the games. Had a slight problem on arrival with our room allocation. I had specifically requested a ground floor room as my wife is a wheelchair user only to be told on arrival that we were on the first floor. The receptionist was very helpful and found us a room on the ground floor which luckily for us was away from the function rooms used for the weddings as the noise was quite loud at times. The room it self was ok, bit dated furniture wise but the bed was firm but comfortable andvthe bathroom was excellent, instant hot water and a lovely shower.
Breakfast was excellent, with a good a choise of food. We were looked after by the restaurant staff by the end of the two weeks we didn't even have to ask for tea & toast, it was on its way before we had found a seat. Had an excellent time at this hotel snd would certainly return next time er sre visiting Glasgow.

Spent three nights here. After a maze like experience found my room and was very happy. Had paid a single supplement but it was worth it. Large room very comfy double bed and good sized bathroom, usual tea coffee making etc. Yes the room was in need of a little tlc and the bath towels were a trifle "passed it" but all very clean. Plus I have payed more at other establishments and been less pleased. Staff in the restaurant were charming pleasant and efficient. Yes they are known for their weddings so if you are there at a weekend be prepared for some jollification it's what happens at weddings ! Take some earplugs and they do have double glazing. Wouls I stay there again yes.

Room Tip: Room 308 was on the third floor view over the other wing but on a corner and very quiet.

Just stayed at this hotel for three nights, all the staff were very helpful and friendly, room was spotless and very comfortable, the bed was very nice and we slept well. The Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of fruit cereals and full cooked breakfast. The evening meal was also excellent, with full waited service by well trained and jovial staff. All in all a very pleasant stay at a nice hotel, and will use again when next we visit Scotland.

Room Tip: try to get lower floor room.

After staying here for the commonwealth games recently, I can only say how fantastic this hotel is...especially the staff who were on duty in the dining room on Friday 01.08.2014 - the most fun and professional people, ever!! You deserve all of the credit that you get. However, I have to agree with one of the reviews below about the reception staff...all but one were very polite and professional, unfortunately the lady with the bouffant hair and glasses (as described in the below review too), was very rude and sharp - she did come across that I was bothering her when I had a query to ask.

Overall, beautiful hotel - do not hesitate!!

This hotel is situated in a lovely little village just outside Glasgow City centre. The hotel has a very safe car park when you arrive and you are greeted by a beautiful looking building and surroundings. The reception area is lovely and the reception staff are wonderful and helpful. Our room was the first one on the first floor and had recently been refurbed. It was spacious with a lovely big bathroom, the bath was nice and deep. The room had plenty of space for storing clothes and a large flat screen TV. The bed itself was a little hard with very firm pillows, but I still managed a restful sleep. The breakfast the next morning was fab, lots of fresh hot food including the local Scottish delicacies. The restaurant was rather busy (it was during the commonwealth games) and the eggs were a little hard but that's just me being picky. We didn't use any other hotel facilities but the whole place seemed bright airy and clean. The hotel was meant to have free wifi but I couldn't get a connection. We used a taxi service from the hotel to the games and the station and found it was much more expensive than another service we used so book your own (£12 difference). It's. Bit of a trek to the city centre (15 mins on the train but the station is about 15 mins from the hotel). Very easy to get to the hotel from the motorway though. All in all well worth the £95 we paid for the stay.
