Friend and I stayed at this hotel at the start of a motorbike holiday, was so impressed we went back on the journey home, 4 different rooms, all excellent, staff advised us there was a wedding during our second night but it caused us no inconvenience whatsoever. Chap playing the bagpipes just added to the day. The staff are fantastic and first class (including the lady receptionist who has received criticism in reviews below). It is disappointing some people feel the need to single out a particular member of staff for criticism. If you have a complaint speak to the manager and allow the employee to respond at the time. Good location with good parking, food at the hotel excellent. Excellent value for money and well recommended

We had our wedding ceremony here on the 3rd Aug 2014 and have to say we can not thank Steven and all his staff enough for a fantastic day from the dressing of the room to the excellent service they did through out the day, we would highly recommend having your wedding or any other celebration here, we booked over 15 rooms for the weekend and there was not one single problem with the guests booking in, the food was fantastic and the waitresses were very pleasant and provided a great service, Steven was very helpful in guiding us on the big day, thanks a gain for making our special day extra special, Ian & Jeanette

Room Tip: we have stayed here before our wedding night and had a double room with a Jacuzzi, champagne and sandwiches on arrival

This hotel looks good from the front - but is in need of huge upgrade - rooms average not worth the price and ensuite have not been done in an age - far too noisy from weddings - good location in village centre - and while breakfast was good and staff very helpful - dinner was only average in a medium setting of restaurant - didnt like the bar very plain and drinks were way overpriced - felt this hotel sadly was only hanging in and getting what they could from customers

Room Tip: Sadly hotel too small to miss sound from weddings- smoking area far too close to restaurant

I booked this hotel to use as our base for our trip to the Commonwealth Games. It was the only one I could get last October once I knew tickets were secured who weren't charging ludicrous prices.
We were there for one night, staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Room was a bit tired, a few bits of flaky paint and paper and shower could do with modernising as it kept running hot and cold whilst in it but overall it was fine.
Breakfast plentiful and I couldn't actually eat everything that I chose....but it all looked so good I wanted to try.
I can see why it would be a popular choice for weddings and we had a peek through the window at the function hall which was all set up and it looked stunning.
Good distance in terms of commuting to Glasgow City Centre, I used the car to get about but not sure how effective public transport is.

Booked the hotel in September 2013 for two weeks for our visit to Glasgow and the games. Had a slight problem on arrival with our room allocation. I had specifically requested a ground floor room as my wife is a wheelchair user only to be told on arrival that we were on the first floor. The receptionist was very helpful and found us a room on the ground floor which luckily for us was away from the function rooms used for the weddings as the noise was quite loud at times. The room it self was ok, bit dated furniture wise but the bed was firm but comfortable andvthe bathroom was excellent, instant hot water and a lovely shower.
Breakfast was excellent, with a good a choise of food. We were looked after by the restaurant staff by the end of the two weeks we didn't even have to ask for tea & toast, it was on its way before we had found a seat. Had an excellent time at this hotel snd would certainly return next time er sre visiting Glasgow.
