We spent most of our time in the lovely beer garden which is fantastic for kids, they even got out games of swingball, boules and giant jenga. The food was delicious pub food, but obviously well thought out and home made. The service was really great too. Definitely worth a visit.

What a fantastic time we had at a brilliant mini festival. The Rising Sun made the time there most enjoyable, food, staff, and availability of everything we needed where great.
Music and atmosphere fantastic.A big thank you to Ben and his team for yet another fabulous event.

I hadn't visited the Sun at Milland for over 5 years, and it was good then. However, I was really impressed tonight, the food seemed even better than last time! Even though the restaurant area was busy we were served quickly and effectively by Dan and the team. The food was really delicious and I thought it was very reasonably priced. Lovely staff, great location. I would definitely come back here again, and would recommend it to others.

We have been faithful advocates of this friendly well run pub ever since it was acquired by Ben and Frankie over 5 years ago. The welcome is genuine and we always tell everyone how good the food was each time we visit. Today was no exception. A lovely warm Sunday afternoon and an impromptu decision to go for lunch was rewarded with our choice of slow cooked lamb shank with giant cous cous and apricot and pomegranate. Simply amazing! Even my wife who is 98% vegetarian thought is was fantastic.

Many pubs in the local area don't serve food on a Sunday evening, so if you're peckish and don't fancy cooking, this is a good option!

The pub itself is a red brick 1930's style pub, solid and attractive but not overwhelmed by old world charm, it also has a sunny patio and good sized garden.

A good menu, to be honest one of the better ones seen recently at a pub, where we would have been happy with a range of different meals and this was backed up by a reasonably large selection of wines available by the glass, two ciders on tap plus a range of beers.

We opted for the mixed antipasto to begin with, not cheap but very good value - lots of bread (with oil and vinegar), mozzarella, pesto and tomatoes, olives, other cheese and lots of sliced meats!

Slightly less good was the chicken kiev main course (overcooked) and salt and pepper squid (needing more lime juice) - but otherwise quite pleasant.

Staff were young and friendly
